Re: Project .223AI gets a face lift
Ya, I got the "what the heck is that" comment when she got home. I tried to explain that painted rifles are more accurate but she was not buying it. ![roll ](./images/smilies/roll.gif)

Project .223AI gets a face lift
Sense I stripped the rifle down trying to cure some potential bedding issues I felt the rifle needed a face lift. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/junfan/Shooting/4-24-09%20Stock%20Repaint/HPIM1166.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/junfan/Shooting/4-24-09%20Stock%20Repaint/HPIM1167.jpg ...

Re: I need some group diagnostic help
Thanks for the information.
The fliers occur at random which is why I am baffled. I have been very careful to let the barrel cool between shots. I did not think to check the velocity against the fliers, next trip I will keep better notes on the shots. Thanks for the insite.

I need some group diagnostic help
I have been working up loads for my new .223AI and I am having a heck of a time with 5 shot groups. I have not had this type of problem with any other rifle so I could use some help figuring out what is going on. The problem is I have been getting three rounds in a very good group with two consisten...

Re: The Perfect 100yrd Targets
I have made some great targets(I am biased) for load development. Let me know and I can send you some PDF files. Re: Project .223AI Load Development
This is the barrel you worked up, I am very pleased with the results so far. The rifle handles far better than it did with the 26" heavy varmint barrel that was on there before. I told myself I would be happy if it shot half as good, but it shows signs of being equally as impressive. I need to ...

Project .223AI Load Development
I went to the range today to shoot a few loads I worked up for Project .223AI. The wind kicked up very quickly so between that and my self induced flyers I only sent about 30 rounds down range. Despite the conditions I have a couple loads worth further investigation. 35-40F Sunny/Windy Windy and a c...

My Daughters first trip out with her new squirrel getter.
My Daughter finally got here rifle last weekend so we headed out to do a little plinking and sighting in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/junfan/Shooting/04-11-09/HPIM1143.jpg I think she likes it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/junfan/Shooting/04-11-09/HPIM1137.jpg We set up the spinne...

Never get in a hurry
I was very excited to get the barrel screwed onto project .223AI and was eager to get out today and unleash it on a few local squirrels. After putting the rifle together and replacing the scope and bases, I loaded up 50 rounds for fire forming purposes and headed out. I put a target up at 100 yards ...

Re: Any Rats poking there heads out in SE Oregon?
They are out in force in this part of the state. Thursday and Friday we shot around 100 then the weather turned nasty an snowed. Today the sun is out again and I would assume the squirrels are out as well. I am going back out tomorrow after work to shoot a few.

Re: Painted Another Stock Tonight
I have been using Krylon webbing spray. You can find it at some craft stores or order it online at jo-anns. The paint come out of the can as you see it. You should practice on a paper plate or piece of cardbord because the spray comes out of the can a little strange.

Re: Painted Another Stock Tonight
:trophy: :trophy: :trophy: Nice Job. I have a 300 WBY with a rubber hogue stock. Can that be done to that? Sweet... I would not recommend it. My buddy painted his Hogue stock and the paint is hot holding up very well on the rugerized material. I tape the checkering off and use an exacto knife to tr...

Painted Another Stock Tonight
My buddy brought his Winchester over tonight for an overhaul. I think it turned out great and the stainless really sets it off.
