04-25-10 Trinity VS Skippy
I took my daughter out for a little squirrle shooting today, you could have not asked for a nicer day or a better time. 68F Sunny, no wind and lots of targets. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v16/junfan/Hunting/04-25-10%20Trin%20Squirrel/100_1813.jpg The young ones were up and they were thick!! ht...

Re: 7mm SAUM Rifles
Thanks for the reply, the 7mm-08AI is defiantly on my short list! I am actually thinking very seriously about picking up a 7mm-08 for my daughter, she will be old enough to pack it in two years and it should serve her for anything she hunts around here. What kind of velocities are you getting with t...

7mm SAUM Rifles
I am interested in a 7mm SAUM and can't seem to find any body chambering a rifle in that caliber. My buddy found a Ruger the other day and it is a good shooter. Anybody have any info or am I up for another build?
Re: 270 loads
I have had good luck with them, but I have never pushed them at nose bleed velocities either.
Next time you are in the area let me know, there are a bunch of squirrels that need to be shot.

Re: 270 loads
Thanks for the info, it seems he is on the right track. I think he will be trying some 130gr Partitions, accubonds and innerbonds as he is looking for a little tougher bullet than the gamekings. He really does not have any experience with gamekings but has been INTERNET brain washed that the gamekin...
270 loads
My buddy decided he wanted to start loading his 270 so he went and bought some 140 accubonds and H4831SC to play with. His rifle did not like the accubonds but loved the 130 Sierra Gamekings I had laying around. The first load shot with 59.5gr of H4831SC produced 3050FPS average with a spread of 15 ...

Re: 150gr E-tip load data for the 30-06
I shot several loads today with H4350 and H4831SC and I am less than impressed with the 150gr Etip. I saw the pressure signs with similarly loaded 165gr accubonds and BT and the velocities were similar as well. Pressure signs occurred around 2800-2850fps which is less than I have seen with other 150...

Re: 7mm Mag Question
You might also look at a 120gr bullet such as a Nosler BT or Barnes TSX and reduce the velocity some what. Those are outstanding deer bullets and you will have even less felt recoil. Nothing wrong with the 140 bullets, but if you are really looking to reduce recoil the 120 may be something else to c...

Re: 150gr E-tip load data for the 30-06
Thanks Rick, I will give him a call. I am very interested to see how these shoot and perform on game I am just at a loss for where to start. I don't want to shoot them up just trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak.

150gr E-tip load data for the 30-06
On a recent trip to Nosler I picked up a pile of .308cal 150gr E-Tips and am going to start loading them. I can find next to nothing as far as load data goes for them, anybody suggest a place to start with say H4350? From their shape they seem simmilar in size to my 165gr Accubonds or BT. I was thin...

Re: .223 loads
For bullets in that weight range I would look at a powder with a simmilar burn rate to H335. Ramshot TAC, Benchmark, 335, 322, N133 would all be great choices. I have had the best luck with Benchmark and TAC in my .223 rifles.

Re: Problems sizing .223AI Brass
Sorry, camera is not working at the moment. What I am seeing is the area just above the head(1/8" to1/4") is very shiny on a side after FL resizing. Just neck sizing makes it difficult to close the bolt. Rick, I found a site for Darrel and see from his phone number he is in Oregon, where i...

Problems sizing .223AI Brass
I am having one heck of a time resizing my .223AI brass and need a little advice. I currently have a Lee neck sizing die and a set of Lee FL .223AI dies. When running the brass through the neck sizing die I find it hard to chamber. Just above the head the case is slightly bulged. After finding this ...
