Re: Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08
I am loading tonight for another trip Sunday morning to Tejon. I will take my camera and try to get some photos of Deer, Elk or Pigs. I am sure I will take a few pics of blown up squirrels too but we have all seen those before. Will your buddy be shooting lead again? Sounds like Tejon Ranch is not ...

Re: 25/06 bullet selection.
Few weeks back I bought a 2506 barrel for my encore. It will be strictly a whitetail gun. I don't know if I should use the new barns TSX or one of the new bullets from Nosler. I"ll be shooting 100gr. so I want to stay away from the original ballistic tip( had a bad experience with a 120grnr fr...

Re: Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08
Just got home from Tejon 201 squirrels total. I shot 41 and the 3 others shot the rest. 47 50 and around 70 I believe. Saw a really healthy Spike Buck but no other deer. I shot real well and the Varmint Grenades in .204 are amazing. One friend shot a .223 with Varmint Grenades and the other 2 shot S...

Re: Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08
My understanding is they have a very expensive machine (I am sure several throughout the State) that can "sniff" the ammo like a bomb sniffing thing at the airport except this sniffs for lead. I wonder if that's really true or if it's just propaganda released because they really can't enf...

Couple more I found. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/sum-rifle/Tejon%20Ranch/DSCN0640.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/sum-rifle/Tejon%20Ranch/DSCN0639.jpg Sure is pretty up on Tejon. Cooler in the summer than Bakersfield. Roads are slippery and impassable when wet. I am serious, 4W...

Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08
Well a friend and I went to the beautiful Tejon Ranch in Southern Kern County yesterday to try to put a dent in the burgeoning squirrel population. We have been there many times doing the same thing or hunting deer, pig, bobcat and coyotes, but this was my first trip since the lead bullet ban. I had...

Re: Frame by frame pics of some prairie poodles
Those are some great action shots that show what a 39 grain BlitzKing will do.
I am working on a load for the 26 grain "Varmint Grenades" because I live in California and a lot of people do not understand that lead really is not that big of a deal.

Okay. Here is the extra data that Ty sent me. I transferred it to a word document. Didn't quite format it the way I wanted it to, but should be easy enough to read Revised 7/2008 ♦ Indicates most accurate load Bullet Weight: 26 gr Case Trim Length: 1.840" S.D. 0.089 Bullet Style: VG FB P...
