Re: Night time Yotes
I'd love to get one now!
Deer bow season is running in Ohio right now. . . I love gut piles ! ! !
But. . . I guess there is always Christmas.
I wonder what that light will do on snow. . .I should rephrase; I wonder how the light beam will act when flashed on snow??? ![chin :chin:](./images/smilies/chin.gif)

Re: Range Rookies
I stopped going to the range after a dad and his two sons decided to have a "boys night out" with some full auto .22's and a couple of SKS with a AK-47.
Either their fingers could move like lightning or them rifles were de-burred for an "automatic" feature.

Re: Frustrated with the 1-12 twist and 40gr bullets
I shoot a factory Savage model 12FV. I shoot factory ammo: Hornady 32gr,40gr, and 45gr SP Winchester 34gr JHP (precision expansion point) Out of all the weights, the 40gr get me the best accuracy and the best overall performance. I use the 34 grainers for close (100yds or less) shots on stray cats :...

Re: Night time Yotes
The problem I have with a light that attaches to my scope, is. . . well. . . I shoot a 13 pound gun. Yeah. . . I know. . . why 13 lbs.?? I've got various excuses, but the light puts me up to a near 14+/- lbs. The old addage "An ounce in the morning is a pound at night" comes to mind when c...

Re: My sons 2007 CO 'lope buck
good lookin' steaks ! :D I learned to keep my head back a little when I shot a 8mm Mauser for the first time! Fortunately, it didn't have a scope, but I was unprepared for the recoil and the stock jumped up a bit and caught my cheek bone. Taking a nice critter like that is a good self-confiden...

Re: Tell us about yourself...
Hey everybody ! ! New to the forum. I'm married (5 yrs) with a 2.5 yr old boy. I've been shooting the .204 for a number of years and I'm always amazed at what this caliber is capable of. I've experimented with factory ammo only thus far as this is what is available to me. I shoot a Savage Model 12 i...

Re: stock painting
Thanks glen and hotshot and others! Verminator. . . sweet pics  I plan on beginning the project soon. The weather is good and will allow paint to dry nicely. I'll keep ya'll posted as things progress. Are there any products on the market that will give the stock a "rubberized" grip or...

Re: stock painting
thanks, I'm still removing tape and goo. I'll see what I have available.
On a different note: Does anyone know what the factory trigger pull poundage is for the Savage model 12 FV? I went to adjust it the the lightest pull and found that it came from factory preset on the lightest weight.

stock painting
Hello every one! My first post. . . . :D Does anyone have some advice on painting a black synthetic stock? I did have it tapped with camo cloth tape and the tape is comming off. I'm looking for something very low price but durable for sniper shooting coyotes, ground hogs, and the occasional pop can ...
