As usual, great story. I hate that feeling of not finding a deer. It's kept me from going out lately. Nice buck though. Keep up the great stories. Tell Lucas and the rest of the family I said hi.

Great job Melvin. When does your bowhunting start. I missed a doe Monday at 25yds. I mistakenly used my 30yd pin and shot right over her.

He's got that "Oh Crap" look on his face. Like he see's his life flashing through his mind. LOL. Know where you gonna put him at. Next time I come out, you don't want me to wake up on your sofa/bed and put the crosshairs on him in the middle of the night. Hee, Hee!!

Ray P, Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the article. If my High School Enlish teacher was still around, she wouldn't believe that I wrote it. I was terrible in school. But the great thing is VHA's Editor goes through every article and fixed all my bad grammar. Thanks again and welcome to the Varmint Hun...

Re: Close encounter coyote.
Excellent, take it from a Nebraskan. Kill them mangy ones and get rid of them. Some say other coyotes if they find one dead like that will sometimes lay down and rub against them. Don't know if its true, but around here they will take them and burn them.

Re: First one for the New Year
Excellent job Melvin, that is one supurb dog.
I have a decoy I bought a couple years ago from Scheel's sporting goods in Omaha. It is a Renzo's. It is very lifelike past 50 yds. The only problem is putting it up in the winter time. You can't get the stakes into the frozen ground.

Melvin,
Nice young doggy. If I'm correct you got him out East of town where the guy has the milk cows right. Where all them nice bucks were that we video taped last February.
Good job.
