Re: Pics of .204 AR's

John Noveske built this one for me in 2008. He doesn't advertise a .204 on his web site but if you get him on the phone you can talk him into building you one. I believe he used a pac nor barrel. The gun is my favorite 204 and is a shooter. I had Leupold build me a custom scope to go with it. It's a...

Re: What are the bases and Ring choices for Cooper model 52's?

I wonder what determines which bases they use. I bought that same scope, can't wait to get it mounted (when I get my gun)

What are the bases and Ring choices for Cooper model 52's?

I know that all Coopers come with Leupold bases as I have a model 38 already. I have a model 52 in 280AI on the way and I was searching for what the alternatives are as it relates to bases and rings. If the Leupold standard bases are the only choice would I be better off to try out the Burris Signat...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

BigBull: Yep, those are Low Leupold rings with my 40mm objective. I believe you're correct in that you can use Medium rings with a 50mm objective (barrel contour will be the deciding factor). The Lupy catalog spells out what fits and what doesn't, you may just want to consult that, or give Technica...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

Rick - question - on the Cooper in the pic are those low leupy rings with a 40mm objective? I was able to do low rings on my 38 with a VXL with a 56mm objective, it hugs the barrel and works great! I am just wondering if I go 50MM on my new model 52 if I can get away with medium rings. I think I can.

Re: Help me find my Cooper

it will get babied, I'm sure. i'm just talking tough now because I haven't held it yet...... Once it gets home it will be well fed and taken care of. If it wasn't for the checkering I would say that last gun is wood judging just from a picture. The checkering gives it away. nice stick though :)

Re: Help me find my Cooper

So I struggled with the wood vs composite issue as well. I have one wood Cooper in the standard AA claro Walnut and its a nice piece of wood for sure and I love a nice rifle with a good chunk of wood on it as much as the next. I really had to talk myself into what I ordered and I went with the deser...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

Glenn - Your a heck of a guy for looking at it for me. I sent you a note on that other site, I broke down and after sweet talking a gal at Cooper and talking with Mark at first stop I will have the rifle that I originally wanted in my hands in about 30 days. I sent the check off on Thursday to First...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

BigBull: I'm not sure what custom builder you could contact that would build you a "custom" for two grand. I'm not saying it can't be done, but ten years ago I had two built by one of the top custom techno-rifle builders in the country, and both cost over $2,600 each at that time. I waite...

Re: Help me find my Cooper

Your right.... I thought maybe if I was going to wait I may start looking at building or buying a custom rifle. Glennasher from on here is going to take a look at a 52 classic at Whitakers this weekend for me. The wood is really really dark according to the owner and he wasn't crazy about it. I'm no...

has anyone replaced their Ruger # 1 trigger themselves?

I bought a Moyers adjustable trigger for my #1 V in 204 and was wondering how difficult it is to replace the trigger yourself.

Thanks in advance.

PS - I have decent mechanical skills and consider myself to be fairly handy.
