Re: "When the wind is in the East.........
Melvin- Great story and pics! I especially like how you show where you were and the vantage point from the coyotes perspective. I recently got a CZ Varmint, I got some loads worked up for hunting coyotes this fall and winter. I am planning on skinning some coyotes this winter, hope the load I worked...

Re: CZ Varmint and the 35 gr Berger
Thanks Silverfox, I appreciate the additional information. I will do some more testing at the range and see what I can come up with. I started with these 35gr pills because so many have good terminal performance on coyotes with them. I wish it had a higher BC but it is what it is. I might try some d...

Re: CZ Varmint and the 35 gr Berger
Thanks Silverfox, I guess it is a quest for the hottest and most accurate load for me like many. I don't have any experience with working loads over max loads listed. I am familiar with signs of pressure-flattened primers/stiff bolt opening/ pierced primers/cracked cases...some of these I have seen ...

Re: CZ Varmint and the 35 gr Berger
Thanks skipper, I appreciate the feedback, I want to try some 10X powder. I will head back to the range this week and get do some more testing etc. It seems you have done some extensive testing. The only source other than your here I found for the 10x with this bullet comes from Berger and he listed...

CZ Varmint and the 35 gr Berger
I wanted to know if any other CZ varmint owners have chronographed there loads with this bullet. I am finding my chronograph results considerably slower than what I expected. My tube is 25.6". I was expecting maybe an extra 25-50 fps? One such reading I got consistent 3800fps velocity from a ma...

Re: Range today
jo191145- I was using new brass on this first trip to the range. I had not considered once fired(neck sized) brass having more capacity. I will check that out. I might see if I can't find a drop tube in the meantime. I am liking the H4895 load with the bergers. Thanks for the info on the larger quan...

Re: Range today
futuretrades- I was shooting the 35 gr berger varmint match hp/fb. I am trying to work up a good coyote load for fall & winter this year. I think the H335 load had some promise, I am sure my error on the flyer. As far as another powder for the 40 gr v-max I know a guy over in Idaho posts over on...

Range today
I went to the range today to sight in my new CZ Varmint in 204 ruger. After getting on paper up close I moved out to 100 yards and worked up to a max load of H335, and after that worked up to a near max load of H4895. Here are a couple pics. I did run into trouble trying to get more H4895 in the cas...

Re: bore guide for cz?
Thanks Skipper- The Lucas looks like a real nice one. I went ahead this morning and bought one from Sinclair Intl., I ended up with the delrin model specific to the 527 action. I have never used this style before but the tech on the phone said that was all he used and it was very good? I may have to...

Re: bore guide for cz?
Thanks Gary-
I appreciate your help-I will give them a call in the morning. I thought I had everything I needed but never considered a new bore guide. It looks like they are aware the cz might need special collar etc. I measured the bolt diameter and its .585- Greg

I recently bought a CZ 527 varmint in 204-I need a new bore guide as the one I have been using with my 17 Rem (Stoney Point) does not fit the action of the cz. Any help to put me in the right direction would be appreciated. :D I got some loads ready and the scope mounted just about to clean the barr...

Re: CZ 527 Varmint Scope mounting ?
Well got the scope mounted and ended up with the high rings that Warne makes. This will also allow me to get the larger scope mounted later if I choose. It is a nice match I think. I hope to post a few pictures later this week. Thanks for everyones help! MH
