Re: anybody know about RE-15 ?
Yea I guess every rifle is a law unto itself. I got my hands on a Ruger Hawkeye Predator here a while back and the Hornady Manual I have said that for top velocity and accuracy (according to them), with the 45gr Hornady SP bullet that I like because it's tough on bigger varmints, in the Ruger rifle ...

anybody know about RE-15 ?
Hey fellas, I'm probably out of the loop here but I have a good 204 load that uses RE-15 and I can't find anymore of it. Anywhere ! My local reloading supply shop has had some on order for me for almost a year. He told me it shows it's " unavailable" and has been for some time. Both Scheel...

Re: got some 39 gr bking & RL10 need data
In my Savage Predator, Ruger Hawkeye Predator, and my TC Venture - 25 gr of RE-10x with the 39 gr BK always shot very accurate and fast. In the Savage it is a tack driver. It's a little too fast I think because at anything under 50 - 75 yrds the bullet would make a nasty surface wound. I lost a few ...

Re: Powder's for 45acp
I have a Ruger 1911 gov't modle and my wife has a Para 1911 GI Expert in 45 acp. We use 5.6- 5.7 gr of Unique in them both and while a little dirty this load works very well in our 1911's. In fact I've used Unique in my 45 Long Colts for years. We use a 225 gr flat head cast bullet from Missouri Bul...

Re: i need a clean burning powder !
Well, guys thanks for the help, but a lot of powders are very hard to come by these days. I did find some True Blue. So I bought a pound and gave it a try. I really liked it. At 5 1/2 gr. it gave me modest pressure, good accuracy and it's very clean burning. Plus it meters very good. So I went back ...

i need a clean burning powder !
Hi fellas, bought one of those SCCY cpx-2 9mm pistols the other day and am having a little trouble with it chambering a round. The more I shoot it, it seems to be getting a little more dependable, so maybe it just needs to be broke in. Only have 150 rnds throught it. But it seems to be getting a lit...

Re: New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !
What grains are you guys using of 748 and how do those midsouth bullets hold up ? I like shooting a tougher bullet because I've had several splashes at the closer ranges with the prairie dog type bullets. And I finally got out to try that AA#2520, I'm getting fairly consistant 1" groups @ 100 y...

Re: New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !
I had just a few Remington brass (35) I found in a bag among my stuff, they were new so I used them. And I can't find those Nosler's. The Sierra BK's I mentioned earlier got loaded up last spring - I forgot. I may resize some of those Winchester brass, but it looks like we may have Rem brass availab...

Re: New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !
The weather has been so poor for sighting in anything this winter that I haven't had a chance to get out and try anything. But I did get about an 1/2 hour day before last to do some. I had a few Hornady 45 gr. SP's loaded up to test, but I can't get any other kind of bullet right now so that's the o...

Re: Accuracy issues with Savage Model 10/110 Predator
P.S I use a foaming bore scrubber every 15 to 20 rnds and have no fouling issues messing up my hunting. Also when I bought the rifle all I did was for the first 10 rounds, I cleaned it every shot with Barns CR-10, then the same thing every 5 rnds for the next 20 rnds, then twice after the next two 1...

Re: Accuracy issues with Savage Model 10/110 Predator
I've had a Savage Predator in 204 for about 3 years now. I couldn't get mine to print anything 39gr and heavier better that 3/4 to 1 " at 100 yrds, BUT, when I backed down to the 39 gr Sierra BK, 37 gr CRT, 35 gr Berger bullets, things really changed ! My groups now average 1/2 to 1" at 20...

Re: Hornady 45gr Spire Point Ammo Velocity
Picked up 3 boxes of 45gr sp ammo a couple years ago when I couldn't find anything else at the time. Out of my Savage Predator they shot around 3550 to 3600 if my memory serves me right. Accuaracy in that rifle was around 3/4" @ 100. Shot them all up. Have'nt found any since. Shot a couple coyo...

Re: New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !
Hey thanks for the tip on that load, I'll take a look at that. Does your rifle do a little sideways stringing after the 3rd shot ? Mine does. Not bad, but it is noticeable. I attribute that to the barrel stock contact. I wonder why Ruger didn't free float the barrel ? That seems to be a given accura...

New Hawkeye Predator, sweet !
Hi fellas, My sweet little wife ran across a Ruger Hawkeye Predator rifle in 204 a little before Christmas and bought it ! She bought it for herself because it was so pretty and felt good. I wasn't too upset, and it is a nice feeling pretty gun, but have always had Savages , and don't know much abou...
