tight cases.......
I have just started to neck size only with a Lee collet sizer and noticed a few of my reloaded rounds have become hard to chamber. This is the second time for these cases to be neck sized only. My neck sized rounds do give a little better accuracy, especially out to 200 yards. Before that I full len...

I saw a Remington 700 in 221 Rem fireball at a gunshow the other day. It had a 20" stainless barrel and poly stock for about $400 new. I about bought it, but did'nt know if it would be good enough for coyote. Anybody have any opinons ?

Re: about barrel life.......
a 24" Ruger standard barrel. I'm sorry guys. I guess it's a dumb question, but I was just wondering in a round about way, that's all. I've always heard how 22-250 barrel life was short compared to like the 223 and I just thought there was a general idea of thought when comparing to the 204. I d...

about barrel life.......
Hey guys, just got caught up on my forum reading after being gone for awhile and ran accross the one about 204 barrel life. On average, if you don't get the barrel too warm like in a frinzy on a prairie dog hunt, how many rounds can you expect your rifle to shoot before it starts showing signs of ba...

Re: runout & Redding dies
Hmmm. I have been shooting 27 gr. of H4895 & the 39 gr SBK's and running my fired cases through a Lee Collet neck sizer and geting consistant 1 1/2" groups @ 200 yrds. Do you think a runout guage would be nessesary ? Could something cause me accuracy problems in the future that a runout gua...

Re: annealed cases - too soft ?
Thanks Kenny, when I sized the necks, they did get harder where I could'nt dent them anymore. So I guess they re-hardened. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

annealed cases - too soft ?
Hi fella's, I just sat down and tried my hand at annealing some 204 cases for the first time. I think it went pretty well, but was wondering if there is a quick test to tell if the necks are too soft and if it will cause any problems ? I used a 3/8 " deep well socket in a drill to turn them and...

Re: ruger 204
I have a Ruger MK II with a 24" standard blue barrel. Is it like the rifle you're looking at? Anyway, I bought mine back in August and have had alot of trouble finding how to make mine shoot with the kind of accuracy I want. But it's a sporter not a target rifle and it's not going to be a natur...

Re: about RE-10x
Another good tip. I'll try that and see if I can determine a pattern. Come to think about it. I usually waite 5 to 7 minutes between shots in cloudy weather to make sure the barrel is cooled down. And when cool, the 5 or 6 shots after the fouling shot are very accurate. But I have noticed that when ...

Re: about RE-10x
Thanks skipper, I have one load that gave me the first 6 shots almost touching every time. I think it is the 35 gr Berger & 25.5 gr of RE-10x. I would clean the barrel, shoot one shot to foul the barrel. Then the next 5-6 shots would either touch or just touch @ 100 yrds. At 200 the first 5 woul...

Re: annealing brass?
I'm not real sure how the right way is to anneal. I used to put some brass in a level pan and add water untill the only part of the cases left showing was the neck and shoulders. Then with a propane torch, heat up the exposed part of the shoulder and neck with the flame untill it got almost red hot ...

Re: about RE-10x
Well, I have a Ruger MK II,24 " standard, blued barrel, Timney trigger, glass bedded stock, 3x9 Legend scope. I have tried RE-10x, Varget, Benchmark, IMR 4198, 748, H335, and H322. Can't find any H4895 in my area so far. I have tried the 39 BK, 35 Berger HP, 40 V-max, and the 32 Nosler BT. I us...
