Re: Question about brass
I have always full length resized my cases because neck sizeing only gives me cases that are hard to extract or with older more fired cases - head separation, especially in thin walled cases like the 22 Hornet. With my Hornet I only keep cases 3 shots then pitch them rather than have a case head stu...

204's bad record on coyotes ? Help !
Hi everybody, another question. I have been reading on other sites where the 204 is not good enough for shooting coyotes with Blitzking or V-max bullets because they are too fragile. Some of these guys are guides and see alot of coyote kills. I'm sure they know what will take a coyote and what won't...

Speed of a good load ?
Thinking I have finally worked up a good load for my Ruger MK II sporter in 204. Loading a 35 gr Berger HP ahead of 25.5 gr of RE-10x powder. Getting 1 & 1/2 " groups at 200yrds. But can't find any velocity data on it. My barrel is 24" long. Anybody have any idea how fast it may be goi...

Just wondering if anybody has a Savage Preditor rifle in 204 ? How accurate, heavy, and handy in the field is it ?

good suggestions to start reloading
I just got my dies and am ready to start trying to reload for my 204. I got that Ruger MK II sporter, what would be a good powder and bullet to try ? Should I load a little lighter than I would if my gun was a heavy barrel ? suggestions ?

Re: another 204 Ruger Question for the masters
I'll try to put another 100 or so rounds through this nice 204 Ruger 77 MK II and try the Final Finish barrel polish, and see how it works. Thanks fellas for the info. You've helped alot. I want to clear one thing up though, I'm not wineing about the 1 inch at 200 groups, I'm just concerned that I'm...

Re: another 204 Ruger Question for the masters
I put just over 100 rounds through it. And I have to admit I did'nt break the barrel in right. I also only cleaned it 2 or 3 times in that 100 rounds. My bad. Will change my ways and clean it better more often.

Re: another 204 Ruger Question for the masters
I did free float the barrel and added a Timney trigger. These two steps increased the accuracy some. It was stringing up and down really bad, like 4 -5 inches, but I started cooling the barrel with a wet rag on those hot sunny day's and did my testing in the morning early. I waited 10 minutes betwee...

another 204 Ruger Question for the masters
Well I've just came back from my second shooting session and I still seem to be haveing problems. I cleaned the barrel of my Ruger 77 sporter and besides the 1st shot being off to the right a couple inches, the next 3 or 4 rounds go right into the zero at 200 yrds with a 1 inch group, every group. B...

Re: Hey Vartung.......Question
I don't reload yet but am going to try. I'll try some of those 35 gr. Berger bullets. What would be a good load combo to start out with ? I think my buddy said he loaded those 39 Sierra's with 25 grains of RE - 10x. My gun seems to like those O.K. The other load was the Hornady 40 grain V-max's and ...

Hey Vartung.......Question
This is the farmer from Illinois who got a 204 when his wife got a T.V. You said here a while back that you have a Ruger 77 MK II standard modle like mine ? You mentioned it shot pretty well ? I 'm haveing a little trouble with mine which is mostly my fault I'm sure, but was just wondering how well ...

Re: Ruger 77 not keeping zero
Thanks to everybody for the advise on cleaning ect. I'll try that and in a few days let you know how it shoots. To answer some of your questions : The rifle was new 5 weeks ago. Hot or cold I can slip a dollar bill between the stock and barrel. I guess I really did'nt break in the gun right. I clean...
