about RE-10x
about RE-10x. Is it just me or does this powder seem to dirty up the bore quicker than other powders ? Seems like I have to clean more when shooting it before groups really scatter. I like RE-10x but I can't seem to get my gun to like any combination with it enyhow. ( unless anybody has any ideas)

old powder
I have a load that seems to have a possibility of showing good accuracy. The load is a 32 gr. Nosler BT with 26 gr H322. I need to do some more testing, but the H322 powder is old. I bought a couple pounds 15 years ago and it was old then. It is in square paper type cans. It's never been opened till...

Re: Replacement rifle stock help ? any opinoin or suggetion ?
Glen - Do you think if I put a B & C stock alone on my Ruger MK II it would help the accuracy or would I have to bed it anyways ? Thanks

Re: Calling all 22 Hornet owners
P.S. The little Hornet is'nt an intense enough cartride to foul or burn out a barrel. I only clean my Hornet every 200 rounds or so. And copper fouling is almost nothing. At 10 to 12 gr of powder, a pound of powder goes a long ways.

Re: Calling all 22 Hornet owners
I have a Ruger 77/22 Hornet. And I use it as my main walking hunting rifle. I have shot coyotes, coons, skunks and the list goes on and on. I've had it for 6 -7 years now and it is my favorite rifle. No recoil, no noise to bother the neigbors or your eardrums, hits hard within 100yrds, easy on my wal...

Replacement rifle stock help ? any opinoin or suggetion ?
I have a Ruger MK II standard barrel and have a wood factory stock . My gun seems to like a little forward pressure on the skinny barrel so after I free floated it and the groups got worse, I put a little cardboard shim under the forend against the barrel and the gun shoots fairly accurately and con...

Re: sierra 39 bk's .204
Silverfox, in your opinion, will the 39 gr Blitzkings work on coyotes as good or at least well enough as compared to the 35 gr Berger hp's ?
I just have better long range accuracy and less wind drift with the BK's than the Bergers in my gun (past 150 yrds).

Re: How clean should the barrel be?
What about these foaming spray-in bore cleaners ? I've used that Outer stuff a few times and it seems to clean things alright, at least the bore looks like polished glass when I'm done. I don't know maybe it does'nt. The groups seem to get somewhat tighter after useing it. I clean my gun now every b...

Re: barrel and stock for ruger m77 mkII
I have a thin barrel on my Ruger 77 MKII, 24" sporter. Had alot of trouble with it at first, but it's doing alot better now. I added a Timney trigger, that helped. Free floated the barrel, but that did'nt help. So I tried a little piece of thin cardboard between the barrel and the end of the st...

Re: Should I expect better than this???
My Ruger seems to like a little forward pressure on the barrel. An old gunsmith told me that with some guns, usually thin barreled ones, this gives the best accuracy. Some guns don't always shoot their best free floated. But it all depends on the gun. He did recomend to keep the stock as sturdy as po...

Re: Need a backup rifle.....any suggestions?
As far as a light carry rifle in 204, my Ruger MKII sporter does'nt weigh much and if I do my job the rifle will group 1-2" at 200 on calm cloudy days . But I had to put a Timney trigger in it because the Ruger factory was pretty bad and I really need to bed the stock to sturdy it up a bit. I t...
