Improved shooting benches
Here are a couple pics of my new and improved shooting benches. The legs are now removeable (just had to happen for transportablity) AND adjustable. I thought the adjustiblity was essential to quickly plumb the stand pipe, to ensure your shooting platform was not canted, no matter where the bench wa...

Re: Opinion on IMR powder.
I have good luck with Varget and 75gr. Vmax bullets. A little overkill on prairie dogs but so is most everything else we use. As mentioned earlier, I too like the "extreme" powders. I willl likely be shoot dawgs in somewhat hotter conditions that my usual shooting conditions and don't need...

Re: Shooting Advice and Technique
Have you checked the roof of the ute? I have a friend who tells a story of missing a 50 or so yard easy shot at a prairie dog from the hood of his truck. He could not understand how he missed. He racked another round of 22-250 and about ready to take another shot, when a young kid who was with the ...

Re: I'm worried: 32 gr VMax
I have a Remington that just won't give me a group under 1.5" with the 32gr. Vmax bullets either. I have been toying with bedding or selling it, rebarreling was also considered. I tried 5 powders, 3 primers and 3 cases and a wide rande of powder charges and OAL and have finally given-up on forc...

Re: FOR SALE: 500 ct. Sierra .224 50gr. BlitzKing Moly bullets
No good trade offers so far, now open to cash sale if anyone is interested ($95 shipped). Would maybe trade for an old brick of Peters or Rem. 22 shells, it's something I don't have, or Hornady bullets in the first post.

FOR SALE: 500 ct. Sierra .224 50gr. BlitzKing Moly bullets
OK, now for sale (or trade) $95 to your door (cont. US), this should be about $25 less than Midsouth pricing($113 & change + shipping). I would also trade for Hornady Vmax bullets , NOT moly coated. I would like 6mm(.243) 58gr. or .257 75 gr . preferably. I will consider .224 50 gr. or .204 32 g...

Re: Home-made prairie dawg shooting table
Well the Walmart boat seat seemed to have "firmer" foam than the pricier ones in Scheels. It has a weight limit of 200# so I would be a little hesitant to put much pressure on the seatback anyway. I saw a "cresant" shaped seat in Scheels, but it looked like you would be inclined ...

Home-made prairie dawg shooting table
Well this cold and snow was good for something...I got my first real shooting table built. Thanks to majcl5, for the encouragement and access to the basic plans for the design. I tweeked a couple little things here and there, but really just what majcl5 has shown in his posts. The first one took me ...

Re: 17 HMR Savage w/accu-trigger
Picked-up the Savage last night and mounted a 6-18X Nikon on it using a set of Weaver high rings....Looks great. The rifle was just as advertised. Thanks Mark. I can't wait to get her sighted-in and put it to work.

Re: shooting bench
I just finshed building a rotating shooting bench, heavy, but looks like it will be great. I usually just set-up close to the truck anyway(prairie dawgs). I am going to build a boogie bench or whatever you want to call it to carry out when the shooting slows down. I figure I will use a 5-6 gallon bu...
