Universal Decapping setup for 204
I want to deprime my brass after sizing and cleaning. Looks like the manufacturers are having a tough time setting up the decapping rod with a slim enough profile that it won't touch the inside of the neck. Anyone found a good decapper for a 204?

Re: 204 at 600 yards?
Seems like everyone makes their 204's with slower twist barrels. Wonder how a heavier 20 cal bullet would hold up in a 1-7 or 1-9 twist barrel? Would it equal or surpass the 223's performance with heavier stuff? Doesn't seem like much contest comparing the 40gr 20's to the 40-50gr 223's. I like 223'...

Re: 204 at 600 yards?
I wimped out and shot the 7-08. The winds were pretty high Sat and I thought I'd just be wasting 204 ammunition. I was surprised that 2 of my "competitors" brought 223's. They didn't fare well with 50gr Sierras, pushed all over the paper once they finally got dialed in. One had a 1/9 twist...

Re: 204 at 600 yards?
Thanks guys, that's what I thought you'd say but worth a shot......
I've had great luck at 400 yds with the 32gr, but I think I was pushing the edge.
Looks like the 7-08 will get the call, don't want to be last man with the bunch I'm going with

204 at 600 yards?
I'm going to be shooting with some buddies on Sat at 600 yards. They will be shooting larger stuff, but I'd really like to shoot my 204 with 32 gr Sierras. How will the 204 shoot at that range compared to their .243's and larger? Will the bullet destabilize at that range? I'm not shooting hot loads ...

Re: 204 Cleaning Questions
I think the .17 rod is correct, the .20 brush and jags will fit. Check out Midway or similar site for broad selection.

Load development question...
I'm working on loads for a Ruger No 1AB. I worked up loads using IMR4895 with a 32gr Sierra BK starting at 26.0 through 28.2 grains, at .2 grain increments. I loaded 3 of each load, so I fired 3-shot groups with each load. I shot off a rest at 150 yards. The hotter loads (28.0, 28.2) both resulted i...

Re: Ruger #1-AB
My understanding is that Ruger will replace the rings supplied with the rifle if the package is unopened. Not sure how you will be able to tell they're correct or not without opening the pack, but......

Re: Ruger #1-AB
I have a No 1AB also and agree with you that it has great lines and balances very well. Mine has a Leupold 8.5x20 scope. I've tried 32 and 39 gr Sierra BK's and mine shoots both about the same.
Congrats on a nice gun.
