Re: There she blows
My guess is the foriegn rifles have weaker steel in thier barrels, allowing for a fracture to occur where the bullet on bullet collision occurred. The American Steel (being superior in strength - like our Armed Forces) allowed MUCH higher pressure to build, resulting in a catastrophic failure - kind...

Re: Boresnakes
I use one while in the field. I only shoot 20-30 shots in an outing for Jacks and 'Yotes. I'll run the snake to get some of the residue out of my bore.
When I get home it's all about Dewey coated rod, Nylon brush and Butch's Bore Shine.
THAT leaves a clean barrel!

Re: Dogs dog huntin"???
Huntsman22 - Thanks for sharing those pics. I've had a few dogs that I REALLY miss..................but I'm glad to have known them for the years we spent together. That's the sad part of dogs - you really need to enjoy those 10-12 active years. In a way they prepare us for the inevitable - so enjoy...

Re: Cheyenne's Coyote
Great story! We HAVE to indoctrinate our kids to shoot and hunt.....................otherwise the 'other' side might eventually win if there are no more shooters left! My dad started me at 5 years old - I bunny hunted by myself at 7 (good old Ruger 10/22). I started my kids at the same age. The 2 gi...

Re: Trying to decide on what .204 is the best
I bought a Remington XR-100 Rangemaster. I LOVE IT! I was a little concerned with it being a single shot for 'yote hunting - but I found a solution. I took a nylon/spandex cartridge holder (the kind you slide on your stock) that holds ten rounds. I wear that on my left forearm (I'm right handed) wit...

Good sticks, man!
(Well - a 2 ounce trigger and LOTS of practice out to 600 yards helps!)

1. Clean riffle with Butch's Bore Shine. 2. Shoot 'sighters' until she tightens up (timing 60 seconds between shots after shot #1). 3. Once she tightens up (timer started to count 60 seconds at end of last shot) - let #1 rip at #1 target at the beep. Bolt will be opened, count 10 seconds THEN chambe...
