Re: RCBS dies
Many thanks to the respondents on my query. Great answers, consise and with photography to help explain the process and resultant changes. I really appreciate it and it is what makes this a great site. I now know a lot more about total indicated runout (TIR) and will follow your recommendations as m...

RCBS dies
In a recent thread Glen mentioned that he was using the much eschewed RCBS dies. I have used them for 40 years and have never had any problems and get great accuracy out of my reloads, so my question is: What's wrong with RCBS dies? I know that certain bench rest and specialty dies probably have tig...

Re: New guy with a new rifle....
From the title of the article it sounds like positive reading, yet your comment seems negative. I do not get this periodical, so could you provide your reason for the comment.

Re: New guy with a new rifle....
I purchased a Savage 12 BGTV with thumbhole stock in Ruger 204 a few months ago. I recently punched a 4 round one hole group at the 200 yard line with the 40 gr. VMax and 27.5 grains of Varget. This gun is an amazing shooter right out of the box.

Re: Looking for a new way...
I belong to a group called the OGG's (Old Guys with Guns) that shoot sporting clays and have lunch twice a week. At our last banquet one of the member's spoke to the group and emphasised that the wives should never sell their husband's guns for what the husband said he paid for it. Most of us fib to...

Re: Upgrade to digital scale system
I have been using the lyman for 2 years, recently got the little upgrade kit and it sped up appreciably. I have no complaints as it is accurate and fast.

Re: Trouble sighting in...HELP?
All previous suggestions are great, but I thought I would mention an experience a friend of mine had recently. His flip up scope cover would touch the barrel (depending on how it was put on) and he was shooting all over the place. Got rid of the flip up covers and no more problems. It was so wierd I...

Savage 12BGTV
I purchased this rifle a few weeks ago and thought I would report on the results to date. It is a Laminated thumbhole stock, stainless barrel, 204 Ruger caliber. I believe these were put together for one dealer and are slowly finding owners across the country. I put a Nikon buckmaster 4.5 to 14 scop...

Savage Model 12FVS
One year old Savage Model 12FVS in 204 Ruger. Perfect condition with less than 100 rounds through the barrel and a tack driver. Gun provides one hole groups whenever I am capable. Picture available at Savage Home page, http://www.savagearms.com/centerfire_home.htm under 12 Series Varmint. I do not n...

Huntsman22, I was looking at the photo you posted with your homemade rifle rest and am interested in how you mounted your spotting scope. It looks like some type of clamp with scope mounting hardware attached. This would be perfect for my setup as I have 100,200 and 300 yard benches and would like a...

Re: Savage Model 12BGTV Thumbhole
Thanks Hawkeye, I am also thinking about getting a thumbhole stock for a Model 77 Ruger in 220 Swift. Too little money and too many decisions make my head hurt, wish I could do it all. The single shot Savage in 204 is a great shooter, so I hate to mess with the setup.
Thanks!
Thanks!
