White whistle pig
Caught a white whistle pig the other day. Never seen a albino one before. Any of you guys? http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/20706/2134331500103484017S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb16.webshots.com/39823/2969002630103484017S600x600Q85.jpg There is actually two of them in the pasture at my folks pl...

Re: Can someone enlighten me on "barrel twist rates"?
One thing that I liked about the Les Baer Super Varmit in .204 was that it has a 1:10 twist. Seems 1:12 can be a little sensative to bullet weighing 40 grains or more. 39-40 seems to be the threshold. Not a golden rule, as some rifles do just fine, well, many do. But that seems to be the consensus w...

Re: Les Baer AR-15 fun!!
So far I have only shot reloads in mine. Basically because it was all I had. I bought a pack of Hornady's 32 grain v-max's, but we used them up sighting in my bud's gun. Well, he needed the remainder the next day to hunt with anyway. I am using Winchester brass, Fed Gold Match GM205M primers, 25.1 g...

Looks like a mile in that photo, and it is long for an AR, but it is only 26".AK204 wrote:How long is that barrel?

Re: Les Baer AR-15 fun!!
Had ta do it....... Took the .204 turkey hunting today. Shot a younger bird than I would have liked, but today being the last day I decided I had better go ahead or I might not get the chance again this year. Shot him right in the neck and broke it like a twig. He was only 75 yards so I know it wasn...

Re: Les Baer AR-15 fun!!
Well, one shot, one kill today. Bloodied the LBC. I was sowing orchard grass and rye in my folks pature, and since it was just cut last week I was able to see a few ground hogs. I knew it was time to see how she would do. 140 yards, I see a nice one. I get off the tractor and head to the truck. Get ...

Well, it appears I have a new favorite rifle, my Les Baer Ultimate Varmit AR-15 chambered in .204 Ruger. Here's a pic of me with the new rifle... http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/6089/imgp4662tx4.jpg And Scott as well. We got consecutively serial numbers guns, which I think is pretty cool. http://...

Re: have seen the light
Wow Mike, now that IS some shooting right there! When I was doing some research as to what rifle I was going to go with, I read what you had said about yours and it helped me make up my mind what I was going to buy. LBC's get great reviews the web over. I am 100% satisfied with mine. Me and a bud bo...

Re: have seen the light
I bought the NF 5.5x22x56 for my new Les Baer AR-15 in .204 and it is a near perfect combo. Field of view is great and the optics are really nice, and I love the reticle for range estimation. Here's a pic of me with the rifle on our lease. I'm in the woods getting ready to pop out at the edge of a l...

Had a blast in the field today plinking at rocks at 150-175 yards and nailing them was childs play! Very fun rifle and worth every penny. http://inlinethumb09.webshots.c...

Cool! Can you post pics of your rig with the bipod you made? I would love to see it. I think it's cool you made your own.

Re: 25/06 bullet selection.
I havn't shot my .25-06 in a while, years really, but I just got it back from Christensen Arms with a new Shilen carbon fiber wrapped barrel, so I probably will be getting it out to do a little range work soon. My favorite factory load was the Winchester 90 or 120 grain PEP (positive expanding point...
