Re: Browning/Winchester pulls .204s????

I asked and they said they were not returning the firearms as it was my thought to send them somewhere and re-barrel them. They just said credit was on it's way to me and to pick out my new gun. So I did and it's not a Browning. I ordered a Les Baer Ultimate .204 Super Varmint. So I won't be trying ...

1:10 twist?

Hey guys, I have done a lot of on-line looking, and notice that quite a few of the .204's have a 1:12 twist. I ordered a Les Baer that will be here in 4 months or so, and it has a 1:10 rate of twist. What problems would you think I might encounter if that twist tends to be too fast? I plan reloading...

Re: Which one do I pick?

I have used most of the measures you listed except the last one, and I can say that the Harrells precision is top of the line. I only live 20 minutes from him, and he is one heck of a nice guy. The thing I like about his measures is the repeatability. Once you get the charge you want, record the # o...

VERY NICE!! Looks like to took a little time to get her, but you stuck it out and got a very nice trophy indeed. Are you going to mount it? Beautiful pelt on that kitty, I know I would. Cool hunt!

Re: I am looking for a new bi-pod. Any suggestions?

One I bought I have fell in love with is the Stoney Point Pole cats. http://www.opticsplanet.net/stoney-point-polecat-rapid-pivot-bipod.html First time I saw them I didn't give them a second look. But once I bought one and tried it, I bought several more. Cheap, but well made and easy to use. The ru...

Browning/Winchester pulls .204s????

Guys, I bought 2 Stainless Stalkers in .204 last year for me and my best friend. We shot them some, and accuracy was just so-so with the 34 grain Winchester factory loads. I reloaded and got a little better. My bud bought some Fed premium 39 grain blitzs and the gun started throwing the bullets side...

Re: AR-15 Les Baer

Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys. For some reason that Baer rifle gets my juices flowin', and I have never been a big fan of the AR's. And to have that kind of accuracy out of a semi is just amazing! I'll take a look at the others as well.

Thanks!

AR-15 Les Baer

I've done a ton of on-line searches, and have found some great articles about his Super Varmint, but I also see a number of other similar guns out there, without all the bells and whistles he puts into his guns, and was wondering if his guns are really worth the extra $. I think from my research he ...

Thanks GB, I will check them on my RCBS case master and see what they read. I got Winchester brass which everyone says is pretty consistant. But thanks for the info!

Neck turning

How important is it?

I don't have a pile of time under my belt as far as reloading, and wanted to know how much importance do you guys place on neck turning?

And if you do turn, what equipment do you prefer and why?

WOW! Thanks for all the replies. I am going to get some Rem 7.5's to have on hand since I know they work, and will probably get a few different powders to try that you guys have recommended.

Thanks for all the info. I can't wait to get the new Zeiss on top of her and see what she can do!!

Couple of questions

I'm brand new to the 204, but really like the ballistic tables and so forth. I just bought a Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in .204, and am waiting on a scope to come in to get to be able to shoot it. I put a Timney trigger spring kit on the gun, and now have a very sweet 1 pound, 13 ounce trigge...
