Re: Finally got my Baer
Yeah, dem suckers got the most teeth of any mammal in North America! I'm glad they just prefer the hiss and play dead most of the time. Looks like a good target for the .223!!!! Good to hear they are going to suggest some re-loads. I'm betting the OAL might be the crucial factor since it does have t...

Re: Finally got my Baer
They also say "do NOT use hand loads" :? WHUT??!?!??! I seriously doubt I'll be buying all my ammo. I bought a boatload of reloading stuff for the .204, and you can bet your butt I'm going to reload for mine! I can't believe they would even say that! Let me know what their reaction to you...

Re: Finally got my Baer
Froze up due to the extreme conditions? Looks a wee bit cool out there yesterday, but a beutiful day none-the-less. Looks like once you do the barrel break in, you might just have a shooter. Super looking rifle. You mentioned you didn't care for the versa-pod. You prefer the Harris? I have several H...

Re: Finally got my Baer
Very COOL!! I ordered my Les Baer Ulitmate .204 Super Varmint a few weeks back. I can't wait to get it in! My and bud both ordered one. I got a NightForce 5.5x22x56 waiting to ride the top rail. Very nice. Post some of your groups when you can!

Re: NightForce Through the Lens
Bought the 5.5x22x56 last year. The illuminated reticle is nice against a dark target. Glass is top of the line. I'm putting mine on my Les Baer Ulitmate varmint .204 when it comes in. I would like to get another to go on my .26-06. Awesome scopes!

Re: Which one do I pick?
You got it! Match the tube to the brass. Play with how you rotate the handle. I like to bring it all the way up and tap it twice. Then bring it down and hold the handle till all powder stops flowing. Keep the measure 1/2 -2/3 full for most consistant metering. Have fun with one awesome measure! Look...

Re: 1:10 twist?
"Over stabilizing a bullet" that remains intact to the target is a myth.... It doesn't happen... Too much spin for the bullet jacket may occur, but that is not over stabilization when the jacket ruptures from too many RPM's... -BCB I'm speaking of a bullet that comes apart mid-flight. If ...

Buffleheads, also known as quail on water. I have a few drakes on the wall myself. Fun to shoot. Looks like you have a great spread! I have yet to get out this year. Been too crazy for me here. But I love it! Looks like you guys sure had fun.

Re: 1:10 twist?
Man, that's great to know. It's always nice to hear from someone who has experience with what you might be getting. Do you think it will have any problem with overstabilization of the 32 grain bullets if you push them to max loads? I'm curious as to what the effects are when one over stabilizes a b...

Re: 1:10 twist?
I have a lothar walther 10 twist on my savage 204 and it shoots the 40 vmax very well. Your barrel should be perfect for the 39 sierra bullet. I wish most manufactures offered 10 twist barrel for the 204. Man, that's great to know. It's always nice to hear from someone who has experience with what ...

Re: 1:10 twist?
Cool. I am hoping the gun will be a shooter. He says the rifle will shoot 1/2 M.O.A or better. I see so many rifles with the 1:12 I just wondered why he went with the 1:10.

You guys got all the cool toys. Like that last setup too! I can't wait to get my shop set up in my house. We just moved in a few months ago and I am still remodeling all the other rooms so my shop has taken back burner status for now. I gotta buy a few cabinets and once I get those, I hope to be abl...

Re: Browning/Winchester pulls .204s????
My dealings with Browning have been more than undersireable. I had a Citori my dad gave me that was built in 1952 redone by Browning. The metal work was perfect. The finish on the wood was bad, and the bead sight was total crap. I sent the gun back 6 times till they got it right. Simple crap I could...
