Re: Time to Think Reloading?
Here's a quote from one of the most respected members of the forum:... "One thing for sure, if/when you handload, and tune the ammunition to your rifle, you'll realize an immediate gain in accuracy, which enables you to hit small targets at long range...much farther than with the same rifle usi...

Re: CZ rifle shooters
I've had good results using H-4895 @ 27.7 grains, Sierra BK 39 gr. at 2.455 COAL. Of course, this will not fit the clip so I use a Calhoon single shot follower. If an unfired round needs to be unloaded, I remove the bolt with the round held in the ejector as the tip of the bullet will not clear the ...

Re: M1 CZ 527 American
Here are a couple links of interest to CZ owners on magazine modifications that are performed by Roy Bertalotto. He can be reached at rvb100@comcast.net. I was pleased with the mods he did on my CZ 527 Varmint. It is a good improvement over the stock rifle, especially with the Calhoon SS follower. h...

Re: I have a question about a load velosity.
In some testing I did last month, in shooting five shot strings, 27.7 grains of H-4895, 39 grain Sierra BK's, CZ 527 Varmint w/25.6" barrel, I had the following averages: 3830 3860 3834 3872 3860 3854. Good luck, hope this helps. Carl

Re: 204um Praire Dog Postal Shoot
I shot the targets yesterday and got them sent off via "pony express". I made a tactical error as I should have shot the 200 yard targets first before the wind picked up and the sun came out :wall: . Those little critters certainly came alive at 200 yds. with all the mirage that was presen...

Re: Coated vs. Uncoated - WS2
WrzWaldo - Yes the 5th string has six shots ( a senior moment, forgot to reset chrony). I thought the coated was a tad more accurate just by looking at the various targets. I had a slight crossing wind so it was difficult to tell. The bore was pretreated before firing the coated bullets and not pret...

Re: ? on TIR
I have found that TIR can improve during the bullet seating process as evidenced by the following numbers from this afternoon's reloading: Neck TIR before seating: 3 cases @ .0015 22 cases @ .002 11 cases @ .0025 After seating with Redding competition die: 1 case @ .0005 10 cases @ .001 12 cases @ ....
