Re: Too early for 'chucks?

Verminator2 I know I'm dredging up an old post but I had to make a response. We had some of the BEST rockchuck hunting in the U.S. here in Southern Idaho for many years. You could literally shoot 200 to 300 a day. This went on for years until some guys started going out too early and shooting the ch...

Fantastic shots Goody ! What kind of camera/ lens set-up did you have. Were you taking multiple pictures or single shots of each performance? What a great bunch of actors and what a great teacher you are :!:

I agree with Waldo. I think the 17 FireBall is still considered a wildcat, which by definition basicly means "you're on your own" until one of the big manufacturers pick it up as a "standard". You should probably get some Cerrosafe from either Midway or Brownells (comes in 1/2 or...

Varmonter I can believe that article. I only got into it because that's what the "benchrest boys" were doing. But since I have the equipment and it takes about the same amount of time to neck turn instead of outside chamfer the burr off after trimming, I do that and at least it makes me f...

Super 91 Rule of thumb for neck turning is: if the necks are more than .oo2" difference in thickness from one side to the other, then it's worth the time. If not, don't waste your time doing it. I use a hand held Forster/Sinclair turner and chuck my 204s/223's up in a cordless drill (above the...

gunsaregood If you want to stick with the H4895, you can switch powder measures. Johnson Design Specialties (JDS) in Spokane, WA. offers a radical new design in quick throw measures and it will adapt to your Dillon press. He claims to have .1 grain accuracy and from what I've seen with mine, it's p...

Rick, how do you keep track of how many clicks/minutes when you go from range to range? Do you go back to a "base" (sight in) point each time or what? Do you use a 'range book' or do you have the minutes memorized?
Thanks

I'm not trying to kick a 'dead horse' here, but I had to put my $.02 in. I agree with most everything said above but my take on the .270 is this. It's a GREAT cartrige but.. the .280 I think is a little better ONLY because of it's greater bullet selection. (more weights available). Ballistically, th...

It's legal here. We can bag coyote, coon etc. at night. Not sure about cats? I'll have to look up the 'regs' on them. I just can't imagine calling at night and have a 120 pound cat jump on your lap

NIGHT hunting ..... clue me in.

I've been hunting for 45+ years but never tried night hunting. Do you use night vision scopes?, gun mounted lights?, how and when do you turn them on? How do you know when a 'yotes' coming unless he jumps on your lap?
I need answers Thanks

Give me your techniques :!:

sniper2o4 I've done several rifles in solid colors and here's a paint that I highly recommend. It's called DuraCoat and you can get it at this website: http://www.lauerweaponry.com/ I think Midway still sells it too but you might be able to get it right from the manuf. at the above website a little ...
