Re: Want AR do I even bother trying to find something?
Well the Noveske SPR 18" w/switchblock is officially on my wish list for if/when things settle down. For now it's the Benelli M4 as we have a turkey population that is flat out insane and needs to be thinned.

Only problem is Old Mother Hubbard...
and most mfr's are 1-2 years out not and taking calls or orders.
I hope that you are right on the ban not passing. The people sure are "voting" in droves with their wallets cleaning the shelves of gun shops everywhere.

Ruger advocacy-response to the assault on gun owners rights
Ruger has a simple HTML document on their site that uses your location and applies it to the local politicians and sends them a canned message on your behalf asking for common sense when considering gun law changes. Please check it out and pass it on to those you feel may have interest. http://www.r...

Re: Kimber 1911 sights front and rear ??
I don't have a ton of rounds through my Pro CDPII but the ones that I have fired have been true. Mine has the glow in the dark "nuclear" sights and really like them. I also added a set of CT Master series laser grips. I'm not a good enough shot yet to determine just how accurate the gune, ...

TD: Look no further. This is the epitome of AR's/M4's, used by operators "in the know". This is all you need to know, considering what you ask for: http://www.noveskerifleworks.com/ John Noveske, the owner was an incredable guy, a personal friend of one of my sons, Dave, and a True Americ...

Want AR do I even bother trying to find something?
I've always wanted an AR, but have never actively pursued one. Given the current political climate can a guy even find something that's not a price gouge? I'd want something nicer more like REALLY nice. Something along the lines of the AR equivalent of a Sako rifle. I'm prepared to spend $2-3k but I...

Clint: Look to the top makers, and don't get lured into a "fruit of the loom" nylon junk holster. Good guns deserve good gun leather. Besides, if you carry CCW, you don't want to trust your life to some piece of cwap. Most professionals I know all use rigs from Milt Sparks in Idaho....tim...

Re: 2012 Prairie dog adventures
From what I gather the Wall SD area is pretty decent. I've had so-so shooting in my outings, but I'm looking to get back out again this spring. Memorial weekend works well for me but of course the weather is hit and miss pretty bad at that time.

Re: Wisconsin is on fire
As I understand WI Hunters Safety course completion or Military training now qualify you to obtain a permit in WI. This is quite a turnabout from NO to about the most liberal law. What this means is nobody wants reciprocity with WI as they now scoff at our minimalistic requirements. In other words d...

I wouldn't want to try to shoot off hand with a bull barrel more than once or twice on a whim.
Bench or rest= bull
Walk and off hand= sporter

Re: Wisconsin is on fire
FYI I have a customer/friend who is taking the training courses to get UT, FL etc certified. He's out of the Hudson area. His wife is following suit so she can do a woman's class as well. From what I understand I can apply and receive a WI permit without taking a course as I have taken hunter safety...

Re: Shooting in the field?
I was lucky enough to purchase one of the original BR Pivot Lite benches when RIO was still making them. Also got the Ox bags to stow the parts. I love the bench, BUT you definitely need a good supply of wiling targets to make it worth the setup or at the very least easy drive up access. Unfortunate...

I like my .204 Sako so much I'm thinking of buying another just like it to rotate in the field for PD shooting.

Been there, done that on the chargemaster with the drain gate open.

Re: Which Powder to Buy
I bought some 8208 last year to see what it did, but found that while pretty accurate, I needed to use about 10% more as I recall than the Rel 10x so I stuck with the tried and true...
