Re: My new Cooper finally showed up...
I have the same glass on my Sako 260 and really like it. Got both from the same place that you did. I did not do the turret, but may look to do so in the future. How are the lenses on your covers? I got the "only sold with scopes" reply about a scrape on the eyepiece lens cover. I figured ...

Re: Forster die issues
New stem and extra decapping pins arrived yesterday. Trimmed the decapping pin back so it hits after the expander and die align the brass and all is well so far. I did nearly 200 of my fireformed Remington brass as well as the Winchester brass that wadded it up last time. Looking inside I could clea...

Re: Shoulder bump
I fired a few rounds yesterday with both of my 204's so I'll look at them and see how they compare for starters.
Yes I have the Stoney Point/Hornady tools.
I'm thinking that my once fired brass grew little to nothing on the headspace gauge.

Re: Shoulder bump
Yes it fully contacts the shellholder and with solid force. On the Co-ax trimming the shellholder is not really practical.
I'll call Forster and see what they say. Could be short chamber/long die like you said.

Re: First time loading 1000 duplicate rounds.
I have a lot of the same equipment: Chargemaster, Trim Pro-powered, Trim mate etc. I still dump one at a time with the chargemaster and use my Forster co-ax press. I try to break up the monotony by doing a couple hundred at a time.

Shoulder bump
This operation is something that I have not previously paid much attention to, but due to bolt close issues with my 22-250 recently became aware of. Problem is, I can't seem to get my Forster die to move the shoulder on my 204 brass. I even took the die to a lapping block and honed the snout a coupl...

Re: Forster die issues
Did some more checking with my 204, 243 and 260 dies. ALL of these other dies have the expander ball entering the neck BEFORE the decapping pin hits the primer. Guess my course of action is clear. I also plan to purchase a unversal depriming die so I can deprime and measure brass for headspace measu...

Re: Poor day at the range with my new 22-250
Looking more closely at my once fired brass I've been finding bent rims on many of them.

Re: Forster die issues
Universal decapping die is on my Wish List waiting to finalize my next order!
I can clearly see where the decapping pin hit off center inside the case head.

Re: Forster die issues
Well I wadded up another stem yesterday  Been working fine, went to work a piece of once fired Winchester brass and crunch. Decapping pin broke into numerous pieces and the stem bent below the expander. So here is where I take things into my own hands. It seems obvious to me that a major part o...

Re: My New 204 Meets Skippy Part I
With a chamber built with your reamer though and touching the lands you would have quite a bit more bullet in the case correct? Yes, correct, but I don't plan to mess with this chamber until it's rebarrel time. My custom M700 11 twist was chambered to touch with the bullet base at the neck/shoulder...

Re: Poor day at the range with my new 22-250
As stated above I have dug out my Headspace gauge and am bumping the necks back just a touch from what a round that is fireformed to my chamber measures. Advice came from a friend who is/was a 1000yd BR shooter. It is quite likely that I was pulling the necks long and probably crooked as well. Begin...

Poor day at the range with my new 22-250
I think I know the initial answer, but wanted to ask here to be more certain. I started with a 10 rounds of factory Remington in the shoot a couple, push a patch etc in the wind on Monday. Just wanted to get on the paper from 35 yards at home. Yesterday I went to my shooting spot to see what I could...

Looking at teh Cooper if you tried to just touch you'd be pretty minimal on seating depth at .053" wouldn't you?
