New to the Ladder test. I'm a believer
My 22-250 just hasn't come into it's own yet so I had it pillar bedded, lugs lapped, and recut the crown. Cleaned both the Sako 204 and 22-250 VERY thoroughly with Sweets. Looks like I need to get some Bore Tech proof Positive jags though as the Sweets is pretty aggressive and shows copper like mad....

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
Well now our leader has had to drop out and his buddy is not coming either so now we are down to 3 and scrambling. I spent way too much time getting ready to let this one slip away. So long as the weather holds we'll be going. We just might have to "wing it" when we get out there as my 200...

Shirts made in USA vs Sri Lanka. Harder and harder to come by, but they are still available I believe.

Re: Manual decapping rod for .204?
Hmm, I'll have to check, but at a glance my Lee universal decapper had a collar that I sure thought was over 20cal OD.

Re: lookin' for help!
My Remington LVSF shoots the same loads that my Sako uses with very good accuracy. Might want to try the 39SBK and Reloader 10x or IMR 8208 as both seem to shoot well. You'll need more 8208 to match the Re10x velocity but will gain temperature stability.

Re: PD Hunt on 5-15-2010 in North Dakota--Graphic Photos
Do you have any pics of your shield or suggestions what to use? With 18x and 25x capabilities this year I think I had better check them out. I have tried the 8208 XBR and did not run quite as strong a charge as you, but I'm sure that I could get away with it. I stopped at 27.2 (no pressure signs) bu...

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
We are planning to watch the weather as the date grows near. Winner and Mobridge are apparently far enough apart that the weather can vary between the two. Looking for a 3rd destination as a backup. I learned from a "guide" that I spoke with that systems tend to travel quickly and be scatt...

Re: 204 vs 22-250
The data listed here would seem to lean heavily to the 22 calibers.

IMR 8208 initial impressions
Slow in the 204 and fast in the 22-250. Accuracy in the 204 is very good, BUT it will take over 1.5gr additional 8208 to match the velocity of my 39SBK Re10x pet load which is just across 3800fps. I did not run the complete gamut to see if it can outshhot my 10x load, but my 10x load is plenty adequ...

Quoddy,
If I might ask whet is your usual technique?
I let my forend ride in the front rest loose grip the pistol gerip with my right hand and use my left hand to stabilize/squeeze the rear bag. Shoulder contact is something I have been working with in different variations.

I have a Nuvi as well. 255 I believe Works pretty well as a talking Nav-bitch, but as mentioned it can get messed up and is only as good as the current maps.

Flash hole debur
So when I prep my brass I use the RCBS Trim Mate power station. I use the primer pocket cutter, chamfer tools, and their flash hole deburring tool which is just a bevel and I do not use a stop. I just look to remove any apparent flashing at the inside base of the hole. I follow with a quick single s...
