Re: Which Powder to Buy
I've bought a pound of RE10X. Is there any load data out there for the 32g V-max? Look in the "Favorite Load" thread. There is an Excel spreadsheet with good info on powders and bullets. I printed it out and it sits on my reloading bench. My best powder has been BL-C(2), but I haven't tri...

Re: Nosler Pro Shop Open Again
Production of bullets will start withing 30 days, so any "shortage' implied by a dealer is really imaginary, as they're still shipping from the warehouse and there's still lots in the pipeline. Nosler is back in business! Skippy take note! I'd be curious how their .224 55 gr ballistics a...

Re: Range Report, Sunday 06-13-2010
I'm not a AR guy, but I get tempted now and then. I can't say enough good about Reloader 10x. Yes it makes soot, but copper foulings is preetty much non existent. One thing to consider when doing range work in potentially questionable conditions is try a known good combo in a different gun. This way...

I tried to contact Tactical Solutions via email. No response. Why have a web site and email if you don't respond?

Re: Shiney new .204 (do not view after eating)
I'd suggest you run a ladder test with Re10x and I think you'll be satisfied with the results.

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
TD: I assume that you were shooting on reservation land? It sounds like your experience nearly mirrored mine from last year. Plenty of dog towns, but mostly skittish animals that kept shooting limited to 300+ yards. Yes reservation land. Hoping to get back out to some better shooting again this year.

Re: Nosler Explosion Pics
We've been working on a summer PD trip due to the lack of shooting on our recent outing. I guess I need to look for another supplier... Quote from Midway: Sorry you were unable to get the quantity that you wanted. Nosler bullets had a really bad accident at there plant earlier this week. We are curr...

Re: Nosler Explosion Pics
Might be time to stock up. One of my Nosler selections listed at Midway shows out of stock with 6-1-2011 as expected in stock date. Dunno if this is a mistake, a ploy, or what, but 100rd pkgs of same are in stock. Hope this is just a mad panic that passes quickly. I was unable to secure the 1000 bul...

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
One more word of advice if hiring a guide. Make sure all of the details are understood beforehand. In our case we wanted a brief evening shoot. This cost us a full day of guide service for just a couple of hours of shooting. I'd have expected the shooting to be better for the $$$ spent, but I also u...

Re: pressure signs ???
Check your firing pin protrusion on your bolt. Should be in the 0.040" range. Shape of firing pin can provide this issue as well. This is also why good gunsmiths bush the firing pin holes on boltheads as well. My Sako gave the occasional misfire, but generally would strike the second time. Too...

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
I did call one "guide" in the Winner area who said that poisoning on the Rosebud along with plague had done quite a number on the dogs. Fortunately they ran out of poisoning funds. We went to Mobridge this year. Our guide was clean cut, decent, and friendly. The bridge is under constructio...

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
Well I broke down and hired an outfitter to guide us. Just wanted to be sure we had the best chance of finding some good shooting and didn't get stuck driving all over. We'll watch and learn this trip and hopefuly go it alone next trip.

Wish I had the time to hone it a bit further, but I think I'll be in decent shape. We'll see. I now have 800 rds ready to go and about 800 for the 204 as well. I also did about 150 in .260 Rem to see how that does.

Re: Countdown to Memorial Weekend PD shoot in SD
I'm sure we can make something work. Hoping not to have to scout. Then it becomes a prairie dog "hunt" versus "shoot" and I'd rather land, set up, and go to work. I'm working a line from a friend who hunts deer near McIntosh. The rancher there always told him "just don't sho...
