Re: REm 700 VL SS thumbhole Loads
Anyone have any suggestions on equipment to buy or not buy? I was planning on getting a digital scale, is this really neccessary? Or will the scale that came with the kit be adequate? http://optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/#/toolsofthetrade/4529825076 I think the above site has good information ...

Re: 243 deer load
We have used the Nosler 100 gr partition for around 20 years with great success (knock on wood) With IMR4350 near max from several different rifles. Sierra 100 gr Game Kings might do a job for you also.

Re: Case trimmers
Thanks for the replies. I found that if I remove the cutter head and pilot, I can leave the cam and cam follower on and trim cases.

Re: Case trimmers
Back in the early 70's, I went with Forester. Been using the same one ever since, and love the versatility it offers; trim cases from .45 to .17, outside neck turn, ream, and hollow point revolver bullets among others. There are many good ones out there, but I've never needed to replace the tried a...

Re: Bushnell Fine cross hairs VERY fine
I had a Weaver Grand Slam 6 x 20 with fine cross hairs. Had to sell it and buy a scope with duplex hairs. If your hunting where there is any kind of brush that you have to deal with, those fine cross hairs will cost you shots guaranteed.

Is there much difference?
Is there much difference in clarity, brightness, for hunting between these scopes. None of the sporting stores in my area carry enough a selection to compare.

What type of reticle do you prefer?
What type of reticle do you prefer for hunting? I have a 6x20 scope with fine cross hairs that I'm having trouble seeing in the field. I have found a vender who will replace with a larger dot and I'm not sure if I will like the dot better then cross hairs that I'm more familiar with.

Re: Can not see cross hairs
Before getting rid of it though, have you tried losening the ocular bell, unscrewing it as you look up at a clear sky, and rotate it until the crosshairs become completely crystal clear? I'd try that before sending it down the road for replacement....you may just get lucky.
It didn't...

Can not see cross hairs
I have a Weaver Grand Slam 6-20 fine crosshair with dot, I can not see the cross hairs in many lighting conditions. I purchased this scope mainly for varmint hunting and have found the fine cross hairs unsatisfactory. My question is, I'm I better off selling scope and purchasing one with different c...

Re: annealing brass?
Thanks a deep well socket is a good idea. I think I will try to get some liquid tempilaq from Brownells until I get used to how much heat I need.

Re: Load development question...
I started with the 26.0 load and so after a fouling shot my second and third shot went into one hole.
My first shot after cleaning is usually wide of the next shots. That’s why I call it a fouler.

Re: looking for feedback on encore .204
Yes I load the 100 gr Sierra Game King and the 100 Gr. Nosler Partition both with 41.5 Gr
IMR4350 Both loads are at the Max according to my manuals so be extremely cautious. The Game Kings I use for plunking, the Nosler are just for deer. Both loads shoot sub 1" groups.
Good luck,
Barry
