Re: .308 out of box ACCURACY

Here are a couple other choices that are good to go right out of the box. The FN SPR A1 with Mc Millan A3 stock and the Sako TRG 22/42 series. The top is a FN 308 Win while the lower TRG is chambered in 338 Lapua. I just ordered a 22 in 308 Win and cant wait till I get to give it a test run. If it's...

Re: Rem 700 LV SF in 204

I have had one chambered in .223 for a couple of years now. It's a dandy truck gun and quite accurate to boot. The first thing I did when I got it home was to remove the stockand install a Jewell trigger, when I did I notice that the barrel channel had a bump near the forend tip and thus the barrel ...

Re: Sako M-995/ McMillan A-5 stock (pics)

Ray, glad to see ya got er done, sure it will be a nice rig. I was just informed of a recall on some TRG and M995's due to a faulty firing pin. Dont know if you knew so I am just passing on some information. Funny thing is where it's posted at........... http://www.stoegerindustries.com/ Look for th...

Re: Scope options for my Anschutz

I just picked up a few Weaver T36's for doing some load testing. I have never used them before but have heard/read good things about them. For the price I paid I dont think I could do better. It's interesting that they can be focused down to 50 feet. I am going to see how they handle recoil though a...

Re: What a joke!

Gunshops are just like car dealerships, they are only going to offer you about 2/3rds of what it's worth, afterall they are in sales and have to mark things up due to overhead. You are much better off trading/selling to a private individual. just my $.02

Ruger 77 mkII pics

Since this is a Ruger site, I wanted to share this M77 MKII 270 Win I got recently, it's adorned with Circassian upgrade that the African models are stocked with, seems Ruger made a small run of these. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f268/dubbleA/Ruger2.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f268/d...

Re: Tikka T3 - Anyone shot one?

Just bought a Tikka T3 for the most part because of their reputation for decent accuracy. The rifle is chambered in 270 WSM topped off with a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14 set in Warne rings and replaced the factory butt pad with a Simms. I shot at 100 yards and the rifle does not shoot well at all with a b...

Re: McMillian Stocks??

I have had a TRG 42 and just recently bought a TikkaT3. I have noticed how simular the actions are between the two, the Sako being larger of course and the bolt release on on the right side. I am not familular with the number designations, are these a variation of the M995 action? On another note th...

Re: 1st Shot

While I dont have a Cooper in 204 Ruger I have them in 17 HMR, 22-250, 243 Win, 25-06 and 6.5x284. I am still in load development with them but I have finally settled on a load for the 6.5x 284. It's a 142 gr SMK behind R-22 shoots well and has duplicated the factory test target many times. When I d...

I wish you well with your new rifle, my CZ just doesnt shoot factories good at all, by that I mean the groups are right at an inch or so. With my handloads I get consistant 1/2 moa accuracy with 32gr Sierra's and 40 gr V-Max bullets and AA-2015, Varget & Benchmark. It is certainly a fun and accu...

I did have four 17HMR's but got rid of a Ruger 17/77 laminate stainless due to poor accuracy. Two Anschutz 1517's and a Cooper M57...all of them are topped off with a Zeiss 6.5x20x50 and are the cat's meow. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f268/dubbleA/1517Pair1.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/album...

NuMatthu.......... Yes you could say it is, I have others with stanard AA wood and they arent all that great. I decided to furnish the blank on the one pictured. Copper doesnt give any credit for using customer supplied wood but at least you know before hand what you are getting. Here's a pic before...
