Re: Top barrell makers??
Scott - I've had several Krieger barrels on various .308's over the years. Vastly better than the factory Remington barrel they replaced. Excellent accuracy in the 600 yard matches I've shot and very little fouling. No need to clean even in a match that took about 140 rounds over two days. On the la...

Re: Hunting Shack Munitions???
Had some very good results from HSM rifle ammo in both .308 and 7mm Rem mag. Excellent accuracy at 300 - 600 yards. That ammo was loaded on fresh Winchester brass.
Also have done well with their .223 ammo for AR-15's, although they've popped an occasional primer. Mostly though - good stuff.

Re: Mt. Lion Encounter in Oregon (Pics)
Rick - thanks for posting the story & photos! That's great. The little .38 can be loaded fairly warm with some heavy cast lead semi-wadcutters for better penetration, but there are better options! We had a gal here kill a cougar on her back porch while it was trying to get her dog, she used a li...

Very nice buck! Congratulations.
The goats are a kick. I backpack in the Cascades - and they'll come into camp from time to time. Very curious creatures. I keep putting in for a goat tag, but am not sure I really want to shoot one... Chances of actually getting the tag are slim - but who knows?

Re: 2008 whitetail season with 204!
Well I'll be darned. I never really thought of the .204 as a deer cartridge. Have taken one small buck with a .223, but decided that was really too small for my comfort zone.
Congrats on your good results!

Re: Mule deer success!
Well, went back in after the bear - but never found him. Still, it was fun.
Carried the .45/70 Marlin when I went in looking for the bear. Perhaps next season?![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: CO 1st season bull
The mount looks great! Trophy deer mounts here have gone up to the $500 - $600 range, with at least a six month wait, more likely a year. I've become real fond of the European mount or simply putting the antlers on a wooden plaque and hanging 'em on the wall like that. Looks good, price is right and...

Re: 6mm Remington....
Outstanding! Dad gave me a little 6mm Remington back in 1974, just a sporter-weight 22" barreled Rem 700 BDL. Mostly I used it for varmint shooting. A few years ago my son started using it for everything from rockchucks to mule deer, happily and with great success. Ours certainly isn't the spec...

Good job! Convenient that you've got coyotes trained to come out on/near your rifle range! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
