Re: Primer Seating Depth!
Reloads, as Bunnybuster suggested, the shoulder was pushed too far back. Thats why I only neck size rifle loads. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Bushnell vs Leupold vs Nikon
I agree with the whole issue about trying the scopes outside, what looks good in artificial light may not be so good in natural light, where it will be used. The store I bought mine at set up a small table outside and placed 4 decent scopes on it for me to try, that earned them my business. Very tr...

AmenVa varminter wrote:I have a 204 and had a 220 swift. The 204 is much less fussy on what goes down it's throat. Lot less noise, less recoil, and less powder used. And in my case, a lot smaller group size. But also, the bullet is more fragile as well.

There is no better powder for the 204 than RL10X from the hundreds of rounds & too numerous of loads (& powders) I've tested in the last 2 1/2 yrs... Especially with the 39gr Sierra bullet!
Good Luck

Re: Keyhole help!?!?
Have the same rifle and had the same problem, only mine did it with factory loads from the get go as I was not reloading .204 at the time. Took it back to the gunshop who had their gunsmith look at it. He said send it back after also looking at the target and empty cases. Each case had primer extrus...

Yes, I have. Have not used it on elk as I haven't been drawn yet. It is awesome on deer and one sweet rifle. That new trigger is great also. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: How many times do you reload each case?
I too can get 10 or more loadings from a lot. Usually the primer hole starts to open up before i start to have split necks. I only neck size my rifle cases.

Re: Dog Town Bullets
Hmmm, I ran out to my reloading room and "miked" a dozen or so of my Dogtowns. All were .204. Guess you got a bad batch. I too use the LEE collet neck sizer. ![chin :chin:](./images/smilies/chin.gif)

Re: .204 Lee Die help
Had exactly the same problem with .243Win FL Redding dies. Turns out I misplaced the case holder so I substituted a Lyman holder which was too thick on top. ![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)

I'm thinking that's not too bad of a spread for a gas operated semi-auto and the groups aren't that bad either. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Have a Howa in .243 and a Vanguard in 7mmMag. Both are exceptionally accurate.

Had to send my new Savage back to the factory. Hornady factory loads keyholed right from the start. They put a new barrel on and it's OK now.

Re: Burris/Nikon Advice!
I like the fast focus eyepiece, and locking side focus knob on the Monarch. The clarity s also quite amazing. My Monarch is 4-16x and my Leupie is 4.5-14x. I can see the holes in the paper quite clearly at 100 yds with the Nikon. Not so much with the Leupie. I want a Zeiss or Swaro eventually, but ...
