Re: CUstom .204 finally arrived
That's a beautiful rifle but I gotta tell ya. You need a pair of them to really shoot dogs. One cools and cleans while the other goes to work. Great looking gun and it will shoot very well. I'm certain of that.

Re: Do you use a different load for different distances?
Me too! I'm leaving on Saturday for a week of doggin' in CO. We'll be taking them out to 450 yards or so with the same load. We have 1350 loaded and will take components for another 700 to load in the evenings if need be. For longer than that I would use my 243AI. I could also take my 6ppc with a fe...

Re: New to reloading
"I like the Savages because you can move the barrel into the case by screwing the barrel in further." Whoa there pardner. With a Savage with the barrel nut, you can change your headspace which is the distance between the bolt head and the shoulder of the case. You can't do anything to chan...

Re: More Bad News: Obama Ammo Ban Coming....
What if they passed a law that said that every gun in America had to have a ballistics record on file in a national data base? Then, any gun used in a crime could have the bullet compared against a national database. I'm not sure how that would work with new barrels. I'm not sure what the costs woul...

Re: Don't shoot Obama
Gary- It's much ado about nothing. The assault weapons ban was toothless and even in it's anemic form it led to the republican takeover of both houses of congress and was used to get Bush elected in 2000. The dems will pay lip service to gun control but will not threaten their broader agenda to pand...

I thought my barrel was getting worn out.
I shot the holy carp out of my barrels when I was in CO earlier this year and by the time I came home the looked bad through the bore scope and were popping the occasional flyer out of otherwise excellent groups. I put the guns away and focused on my benchrest competitions for the rest of the season...

Re: 204um Challenge News
Jo- On the bag stickiness. My friends and I in the benchrest game use a used dryer sheet between the bag and the rifle to give a smooth as silk feel to the gun movement. It never sticks and it's very consistent. Give it a try and make sure it is a used one. You will be thanking me after your next ra...

Re: Postal Shoot Prep
I took my two 204s prairie dog hunting and there were so many dogs out there, I couldn't stop shooting. My barrels are toasted pretty good. I doubt the groups will be worth a darn now. I've been focusing on competing with my 6ppc so the 204s are just sitting in the safe licking their wounds. We'll s...
