Re: Bullets - somebody should jump on this deal
I've switched from the 35s to the 40s so I'll make the same offer. I have 800.

Re: Temperature and Peak Accuracy
Jo- The consensus seems to run contrary to what I do. Over on benchrest.com they have a thread going right now about this issue and are in agreement not only to load cooler in the heat but how much cooler per 5 degree increment. I'm always trying to learn too. I've only been at this for a short whil...

Re: Temperature and Peak Accuracy
I shoot Comp. BR. When the temp or humidity goes up I load hotter. It seems to need more powder when the air is less dense.
As to the barrel getting warm and opening up the groups, that's nothing new. It happens to me all the time. I sure am enjoying this cooler weather.

Re: Postal Shoot Excuses
My son lost his leg on 9-14-07. He got his prosthetic limb two weeks ago. We just played catch with the football for an hour. His progress has been amazing. I guess I'll have to find a new excuse for the next postal shoot.

Re: Cleaning Bullets or degreasing
Most bullets I shoot are not sealed. The hollow point has a considerable volume that can collect liquid. Isn't that going to be a problem?

Re: 204 Ruger dot com Postal Shoot Info and what not.
wrzwaldo- I have a question. Did the rules change to put me in the factory custom class or am I in the custom class. I use a Savage action with a pacnor barrel. The rules originally said that would be the custom class but I saw a post later that said I would be in the factory custom class. In checki...

Re: Which bore guide
Write to Mike Lucas and tell him the action and caliber as well as the specific cleaning rod that you use. He will send you the guide specific to your action and the insert specific to your rod along with a bill of around 30 something dollars as I recall. After you use it you will recommend it to yo...

Re: MY Postal Shoot - in the 3's!
If you break down and spend the money on a borescope, you will never regret it. Until you use a borescope, you won't know what's going on in that barrel.

Re: Calhoon to make Poly tip bullets
At the cost of this endeavor in the first place, 3$ a hundred more for a better bullet is the best value you can find. Never scrimp on the cost of your barrel or your bullets unless you are competing with me, in which case, save save save.

Re: MY Postal Shoot - in the 3's!
I would suspect the scope and not the barrel. A change that drastic does not suggest the tune of the rifle to me. Even a damaged crown is not likely to blow up your groups to that extent at 100 yards. Try a different scope quick before the rifle starts to think it's a dud. Is that a keyhole I see? I...

Re: Postal Shoot Excuses
Oh my goodness. I finally had time to shoot some groups. My son was in an accident and had his leg amputated a few weeks ago and we finally got him home on Friday. It's been kinda crazy around here. With all that and a few other things, I didn't get around to shooting targets until today. Fortunatel...

Re: Skipper goes Postal
I have a Jewell trigger on my Savage Target action. It is set to around 2 oz. I will be forever grateful to Arnold Jewell for setting me up with it. There are only a few in the world. We futzed with it for 4 hours getting it to work. Savage actions are all built just slightly different and getting t...
