savage rookie: Yes a great discussion indeed! How do you make your marlin a switch barrel? How much does it cost to do it? Unlike most people here I prefer a 22 mag over a 17 any day of the week, but it can't hurt to have one available around the house! :) Mike: As I said, it's your choice what you ...

Actually Mike, I might not have to knock you over the fence as you seem to be falling the right way, according to my brother's .17. It's a marlin as well and shoots around an inch(in no wind).Personally, if you're not shooting too far, I'd go far a .22 magnum. It bucks wind better than the .17 but d...

Rick: Nice rifle and camo as well and thanks for sharing! What material is wrapped around the end of your barrel, where do you get it, and does it degrade accuracy any? I'll be painting my stock and bipod only so I'll be needing some of that and I will have some good camo on as well. I will be going...

Advice for first paint job?
Hey guys, I'm gonna spray paint the stock of my 204. I've never done this before and I am going to paint it in a desert/sandy color. Does anyone have any advice for a good pattern? Any advice will be better than none as I have no idea what I'm doing. Thanks.

After putting more thought into this, I've decided to keep my 22 magnum since I would be getting rid of a great rifle and spending a little more for a centerfire that may or may may not have the under-MOA accuracy my magnum has with no real range advantage. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll just wa...

That sounds good as my longest shots may very rarely exceed 200 yards if I buy one. I'll probably get a trigger job done on it and put a higher power scope on it to solve the problems you stated. It may be a little farther down the road before I get one, since I'm getting my trigger pull lightened o...

22 mag or Hornet?
I'm thinking about selling my 22 mag and buying a 22 Hornet for closer shots on small game and plinking. What do you guys think? My 22 magnum is a MOA rifle. I've wanted a Hornet for a while since the bullets cost the same as the magnum and the Hornet will shoot farther with less drop if I have to s...
