As always a great write up. The only thing better than a day out shooting is a day out shooting with loved ones.
BTW. I may not like our Canadian winters but it keeps away the poisonous spiders and snakes.

Past weekend outing. (Plenty of pics)
Here in Alberta we had a long weekend with Monday being Heritage Day , not sure what is significant about it but I decided I would agree to the day off and use it to honor our shooting heritage. :D The economic slowdown has my shop cut back to a 4 day work week, which is fine with me. I spent friday...

Re: 204 test loads *pics*
I just did a couple ladder tests on friday with this same combo, (I used CCI primers but same powder and bullet) so I know there is some confusion concerning load data. Using the linked load data (http://www.rugerhunting.com/204_data.php) on this site we get this.... Sierra's data for the 39 SBK usi...

Re: Hornady 45gr sp ?
I purchased a box and shot 3 just to be sure that they did not keyhole with my factory 1-12 twist barrel. The point of impact was also the same (as my 32 grain V-Max) out to 200 yards, I never tested further but assume that it drops quicker beyond that. My factory tube also shot 39 grain SBK and 40 ...

Re: 204 Cleaning Ritual
When I got my gun I was not aware of any barrel break in technique at all, I just sighted it in with half a box of shells and cleaned when I got home. Just as circumstances worked out I never shot many shells in its early life because the ground squirrels were not out at the time and by the time the...

I love those photos and it is nice to have an idea of what sort of rig you are using to get such clear and precise photos. Camera is a Nikon D-300. Lens is the Nikon AF-S (70 - 200 mm) VR Zoom-Nikkor F/2.8 IF-ED A "doubler" was also used with it. The TC-20E11 AFS Teleconverter which allows...

Awesome first post.
Those are the photos that we like  Its kinda neat having the birds there on clean up duty. Where I go to shoot on weekends the eagles, hawks, ravens and magpies are all "trained" to the sound of gunshots. After a couple shots in the morning they all show up for the easy feast. Its...

Odd entry wound
Was out to my folks place for a couple weeks recently, had 900 rounds of .204 and 2500 rounds of .22LR but between rain, brothers graduation, and getting my transmission rebuilt I only shot 200 rounds of centerfire and maybe the same with the .22 :( On the last day I got about 50 rounds off before t...

Re: Pictures from this past weekends trip to Nebraska (graphic)
Glad that you had good weather, nothing worse than waiting a year and having it ruined by rain. I am heading to my parents place on friday and will be there for nearly 2 weeks, so I should get a few good days. I also hope to surpass my personal best, got some 39 Grain SBK's loaded so if I have good ...

That sounds/looks a looks like a real winner, congrats. I have dreams of a custom rifle to but the economy going sour has prevented me from even replacing the 17HMR I gave to my brother in law as a wedding gift. But if I get some cash I would like to go the route you went, all premium components. Wh...

Re: Gonna build a a rifle , tell me what to do.
Do you have a gunsmith in mind to do this work?? This would be the first thing I would start looking for as they would have lots of experience and could guide you through a first build. The Rem 700 action is probably the most commonly used as the platform for a custom rifle. I honestly don't know if...

That is why I love this forum, I just got in trouble on another forum for "graphic" photos. Would like to see their reaction to that photo.

Re: She's HOME!!!
It's refreshing to hear about a company that does the right thing and treat a customer well. I think that the shooting industry has better customer relations than most other industries, (definitely had my share of bad service when dealing with electronics). The detailed list and test targets are a n...
