222 rem fabled legend, or not vs. 223 rem
have heard so much about the duce, but wonder why it disappeared. The duce had its popularity before my time, but I was wondering why it is not the sought after cartridge it once was. I understand that the ppc and br cartridges came around and lack of good brass killed this giant. If my understandin...

204 ruger problems need help
I have something I can not figure out. My stevens 200 I turned into a mod 12fv has a wierd problem, and I need help. This thing shoots like a house of fire, most grouping in the .2 to .3 area. But every once and a while It lets loose a keyhole round. I thought it was bullets,It did the same thing wi...

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that varmint style rifles had the triggers tunable to 2.5 lbs. while other rifles like my Mod 11 were only tunable to 3.5 lbs. Savage advertises that the new (2007) target accu-trigger ( only avalible in the f class, long range percision varmiter) is...

I have never seen a accu-trigger that will go to the advertised weight. The best you can do is cut a coil or two off the trigger to lighten them up. Beware savage will not sell new springs. A mention of centerfire accu-trigger, well they are diferent that the rimfire accu-triggers. In the centerfire...

I would say the scope is suspect to me. majority of times when a rifle is not shooting well, the reason behind it is the scope. Make sure everything is tight, especialy the front scope mounts. I have never had a problem with it, but others have, with the front base sometimes they send screws that ar...

why not look at a savage model 11 or 16? same action, great accuracy, accu-trigger, has a 22 inch sporter conture barrel. and alot cheaper than the 12fv. When he gets older and wants the varmiter barrel, like what you saw on the 12fv, all you need to do is buy a barrel, most found for $120.00 unshot...

All three are good rifles. Me personally I would go for the vlp, for many reasons. First, My opion I would much rather have a Savage over any other rifle. To start with it is american made, not many manufactors can say that today. You have a world of aftermarket parts and products, and a savage is a...

Trust me, dont give up it will shoot !!!!!! It is probly something simple, go over the rifle closly. I had a 10fp in 223 that right out of the box would shoot 3/8 inch groups at 100, with remington ammo. I sold that gun because I needed the money, boy I wish I still had it. throught the years i have...

I have never seen a savage thet would not shoot under 1. groups out of box. with any ammo. all I have delt with will shoot at least a.500 group without problem. I would look for something else, I can not belive it is the gun. What brand of scope do you have on it ? Do you have another scope to try ?...

Re: savage
Dang good for a sporter barrel. the heavy barrel (mod 12) rifles shoot about that.raginbull wrote:I just bought a savage mod 11 and I am getting .5" groups at 100 yds. and .7 " at 200 with no barrel break in
