Re: Varmint Nightmare Extreme bullets

We loaded up a bunch for a PD trip and got a personal best of .325" 5 shot group out of a Rem. 700 in .223. I think they are made by Nosler and I think they are who make the Midway bullets also. They are pretty much identical bullets. Oh, and man do they ever have the SPLAT effect on unwanted f...

Re: Winchester Ammo

Do you mean that the Winchesters are not chambering correctly and the V-Maxes are? Or do you mean they just arent' shooting as well as the v-maxs do? I haven't shot any Win. factory ammo yet but I would assume they would be the same length as the factory v-maxs. If the Winchesters just arent shootin...

Re: CZ or Remy - which one is better?

Spot- The CZ set trigger is very nice and I dont think you can go wrong with any Remington. The CZ would be a little easier on the wallet.......but so would a Savage. I have a Savage LRPV that will shoot sub .5" groups all day long....got a .218" 5 shot group the other day when the breeze ...

Re: Rings and base, what to do???

I agree with everyone else. Definitely get some Burris Signature Zee Rings and I use Warne Maxima weaver bases b/c I asked the same question you are about a year ago when i was scoping my Savage and that is what everyone recommended!! I love mine they are a rock solid platform for the rings to lock ...

Re: New Savage single shot

Good looking groups! I too started shooting at a little paper w/ my new 12FV. I wish mine was a single shot like yours as I will never use the box mag mine has......oh well. You'll have to let me know what yours likes for a load. So far mine does pretty well w/40gr. V-max's.

Re: LRPV Magic

Damm good group! Wait until you have some perfect conditions for shooting....no wind, not too cold, ect. then go back out and shoot your 5 shot group! Until then clean it and look at stuff through that BAD A$$ scope you have sitting on top of it! Also, lets see some pics of the rifle!

Re: Rings loosening up on scope.....

Took off the scope/rings/bases and cleaned them all off w/ alcohol. While I was letting them dry, I took my Boyds stock off my backup rifle and sanded the barrel channel down to free float the barrel. Totally free floated now. Put everything back together w/ a touch of Elmers. I have not shot it yet...

Rick I love reading all your posts and now I can't wait to see how that custom shoots! All I can say is that I have gotten yelled at twice by the finance to "QUIT LOOKING AT THAT GUN BY THAT ONE GUY AND GET OFF THE COMPUTER". Very nice build! -Dan P.S. She loves guns, loves to shoot, and m...

Re: Factory Savage wins Groundhog shoot

That is funny that they were wanting to boot the LRPV outta the factory rifle class and put it in the custom category. Love my savages! :D
