Barrel Twist Question?

I have a Pacnor 1x11 twist 3-land 3-groove barrel on a Savage action, it shoots all the 40gr bullets just fine. I'm planning on another Pacnor and I'm wondering about getting a 1x10 twist this time, again mainly for 40gr bullets. What do you think?

Could it be that your friend is using a primer pocket reamer to clean the primer pockets every time he reloads? This might explain why the pockets are lose. I use a primer pocket reamer on new brass and then a uniformer to clean the pockets. This one you have to explain to me. What the difference b...

Re: ?

So how would you guys tighten them? Middle, then front, then rear? I took my stock back off and it seems to be straighter than before but each time i do it, it seems it goes back to the same spot. The barrel is still free-floating(even w/ a couple of thick or folded sheets of paper). I am going to ...

The following is a short peice from an article in the May issue of "Precision Shooting" on Savages new target rifles, the LRPV included. "These recievers have one other significant difference from other Savage single-shot recievers - the method of reciever-to- stock attachment. This s...

There was a thing on TV awhile back where one oil company sold it's highest profit refinery in Calif. to another oil company that promptly shut it down so they could bring in refined gasoline from another of their refineries and charge higher prices.

The trigger on my LRPV breaks at 8oz time after time, never fooled with it. It is kinda weird pulling in the safety and then pulling the trigger on such a light trigger. Guess one has to get use to it.

I hate to say this, but put some more rds thru it. When I bought my Savage VLP it didn't shoot for crap from the get-go. It took something like 100 or 150 rds and then it started grouping, I was ready to give up on it.

How's the copper in the barrel?

I think you did pretty good for only a 10X scope. Before you get to far involved I would try a stronger powered scope and them I'd fool around with the action mounting bolts, tighter, looser, than kind of thing..Tom
