Re: I Think Nosler #6 stinks!
[quote="Rick in Oregon"]That's why we all have our own chronographs! :chin: I spoke with the guys in their ballistics lab, and that's what they registered with their test barrel just before pressures went up too far to publish. Again, that was in their barrel, not yours. You do realize Tom...

Re: Factory Ruger Trigger
I have a Target gray and wasn't happy with the trigger. I tried to adjust it my self and found they put allen wrench set screws designed to strip out if adjusted. When I sent it to a gun smith to cut the barrel he adjusted it for me for free I had to provide new screws that I had recieved from Ruge...

Re: Attention Savage Lovers!
Very Nice Pic Mike. I hope he's enjoying his nap too. Rick I wonder if the authors did it a little differently. The tang on a Savage is free floating. The rearmost action screw is in front of the trigger. Thats the one I've long contended is one of the weakest links in a Savage. I'm not sure about ...

Re: Attention Savage Lovers!
I have one more thing on the PS article. I don't know the author, know his name only, but seeing he's a benchrest shooter, why only 3 shot groups??

Re: Attention Savage Lovers!
Just to toss a road apple in the pie filling, Savage IS making some changes in the upcoming 50th Anniversary guns (next year the Savage 110 is a half-century old, just like me). The funky bolt stop/sear/cocking indicator is disappearing from the side of the action body, and the bolt release will be...

Re: Attention Savage Lovers!
This is the second article PS has run on the LRPV. Actually there's not much on reloading, he gives you an OAL that he used because the leade was so long and he gives you a couple of loads he used, none were in the velocity range that the .204 is capable of. I would like to have known what primer, m...

Re: Rem SPS .204 Varmint??
Wellllllllll I've put them onto a CD and my server room looks like a bomb went off in it due to an UPS and server upgrade. I'm sure I know where it's at and once I find it I'll know for sure. Save your time. Got my SPS today and that stock stinks! Pretty stiff, but I can't see wasting the ti...

Re: Rem SPS .204 Varmint??
Find those pics yet? Or are you like me and need reminders? I blame it on old age.WrzWaldo wrote:I used epoxy and a couple steel rods in the forearm to make it all straight without relying on the barrel. I have pictures of the process around here someplace, when I find them I'll get you a link to them.

Thanks for the reply, wanna give me a little more info on "Truing up the stock?"WrzWaldo wrote:I free floated the barrel on my SPS Varmint (17RFB) only to find that the barrel was keeping the stock straight! Took a bit of work to get it (the stock) trued up.

I goofed, but then again I didn't.
I had a few custom .20 cal bullets sent to me, so I pulled some .20 Tac rds that I wasn't interested in shooting. I grabbed the dies and ran the rds thru the neck sizer. When I got around to loading these I notice only about 3/32" or so of the neck was sized. Picked up the box of dies and found...

Re: Calhoon to make Poly tip bullets
Anytime a custom or semi-custom bullet maker can sell bullets that are competitively priced with a mass producer like Hornady, he's doing everyone a favor as he's not getting rich on the endeavor... -BCB I just checked Midsouth and they're getting $30.32 for a 250 count box of the 40 Vmax. $37.45 f...
