Savage 12FV single shot in 204

I would have to say right now my favorite gun is the 17 hmr. But come summer time it could become the 204. But that 17 is fun to shoot anytime.

So the reticle stays the same size in relation to target no matter how much the target is zoomed in or out? Thick cross-hairs cover up small targets as bad at 16x as they would at 4x? That does not sound like a good thing.

What does first focal plane reticle mean?

Already checked on brass. About $26 for 50 from midway. How can I tell what to look for if I decided to scope the barrel? I think it is a fairly old gun. Maybe as much as 30+ years. What do I want to look for from a shot out tube?

I was on the Remington and Ruger websites tonight and noticed that the 220 and 22-250s were 1 in 14 and 223 was 1 in 9. Why is that? Is it so people can shoot the heavier target bullets from the 223?

A guy at work says he is having similar problems with a 25wssm. So should I recomend he buy a new shell holder? But I thought also that he may have a neck die improperly marked as a FL die. I will let him know.
