Re: Ultimate 243 varmint/predator rifle.
What is the issue with Cooper and PEBO? Does Cooper support the president-select or something?

I have a question to people with 2 or more Savages.
I am looking at a 204 in a mod.11 and I have one in 12fv. Do the same loads work in both? Also, are the mags. in the repeater long enough to get bullets out to the lands? Basically, what are the chances I can use the same loads?

Re: Anyone know anything about Osprey scopes?
That's a shame . It was really a good looking scope.

Anyone know anything about Osprey scopes?
They look good to me and they come with 30mm tubes standard. They look clear and have huge target knobs. And the rings come with the scope(free).

40S&W or 357 mag.?
Today I went small game hunting in the National Forest in and around where I live. On my drive into the mountains I noticed some bear hunters on the road. When I got to where I was going, I heard the hounds aways off. But they were barking like crazy. I decided to pack my .40 in with me. I didn't wa...

Re: How sooped up can you load a 30-30?
I would still use the load data from my manual, based off of the T/C pistol loads(rifle loads still for lever guns). I just think with some of the new bullets around now that I could have an effective deer rifle. The new Lever Evolution stuff claims to reach way out there. I just think that if I fin...

How sooped up can you load a 30-30?
Thinking about getting a barrel for my encore and just want to know. I know I can save the hassal and get a 308 or 7-08. But I think it would be pretty cool to have a long range 30-30.

Re: So far this deer season
Hey Rick, what are the dates of your firearms season to be over before the rut? Hear in Va. archery starts 1st weekend in Oct. Blackpowder in Nov.1 and general firearms Nov.15-Dec.13. Then back to bow/blackpowder til I think Jan.6 or 8. Are your seasons pretty short or just for the guns?

I am hooked.
Last year I tried calling coyotes for the first time. Didn't get any. I have never even seen a yote in the wild. So this year I am going to get serious about it after deer season ends. As I said in a post earlier, I am even looking for a dedicated yote gun. Anyway, I saw my first live dog early tues...

Re: 204 ruger vs 220 swift vs 22-250?
I have a 204 and had a 220 swift. The 204 is much less fussy on what goes down it's throat. Lot less noise, less recoil, and less powder used. And in my case, a lot smaller group size. But also, the bullet is more fragile as well.

I have a question about Buck skinning knives.
I have and old Buck(15 years) that keeps an edge through a lot of use. I have had a new one for a year now and won't keep an edge through half a deer. They are both from the same series model of Buck knives. The only difference is the new one is a drop point. Is it because the new one has only been ...

Re: 17 HMR and PD's
I went out a couple of weeks ago to resight my 17 in for squirrels(30 yds.). Just for kicks I then walked my target out to 85 yds. and took some shots. Same point of impact! No drop at all. You can't do that with a 22lr.

Is the 204 enough as a full time coyote gun.
I am looking for a coyote gun. I am looking at 223s and 22-250s just for the fact that I trust 50-55 grain bullets over 39 grain sierras. Can anyone convince me otherwise. Because I love my 204.
