Re: GOOD NEWS! Berger .20 cal 55gr Bullet

It just seems to me that a bullet that long will significantly reduce the powder capacity of the 204. It may be very accurate, but not near the speeds we are use to from the 04. Of course I am no expert, and could be way off base.

Show me an elected Dem. that's not a "give me your rights" Democrat. I'm sure there are a few, but the ones leading the pack are :yernuts:

First kills with my 17HMR.

Went to the woods this morning to do some squirrel hunting. I had been earlier this season, but only saw deer. It was cold this morning but I managed to shoot two. Both were in the same tree at about 40yds. I put the crosshairs on the 1st's based of head and spine. Squeezed and down he came. The 2nd ...

Great News! (kinda)

The anti-life, Constitution hateing libs. put a gun lover in Hillary's senate seat. Bad news is, she's still a Democrat.

Re: World record elk--(if you say so)

Not the worst I've heard or seen (if it was not high fence). On Ebay I saw a "hunt" for a monster elk. The pic. showed him in a what looked like a horse pen. He was feeding on a pile of feed in front of him. Talk about fish in a barrel.

I like the Nosler manuals. They are very informative and fun to read.

Re: So You Want To Buy A Remington 204

Have you tried all load options? If it were me, I would start with the cheapest stuff first. H4895 and 39gr.BKs shoot effortlessly for me.

Re: Help- Big dog problems

If you can, try to leash the dog and take it to the pound. My dad has had several St. Bernards over the years, very friendly IMO. If you can't do that, or the dog is too mean then shoot to kill. Only as a last resort of course. But you owe it to the dog not to use a light gun. These dogs are big and...

Re: Question about mixing powder.

It is more H4895 on top of the old. I know better than to mix or "blend" 2 or more powders.

Question about mixing powder.

I have not reloaded the volume of cases for any other caliber as the 204. So there for never dealt with this question. I am getting ready to empty a pound of H4895. I can get maybe 2 and a (half) loads out of it. Should I just throw away the half or pour a new can on top of it? The new can came from...

Re: Anyone ever seen the "Best of the West" hunting show?

I think next week they shoot a grizz. at 500+. It is very entertaining tv, but could give average Joe the wrong idea about what most guns and hunters can pull off. But like I said, very entertaining.

I went to the local gunshow today.

I saw an older fellow who had a couple of varmint rifles for sale. The one that really caught my eye was a Howa .223. It looked to me as though he had cut the barrel down to 20" and re-crowned it. He had also taken the stock and had it sprayed with bed liner. Rhino I think. It looked kind of co...

Anyone ever seen the "Best of the West" hunting show?

Those are some long freakin' shots  . They are using Berger VLD bullets. I thought those were for punching paper.
