Re: My Plan....
Great looking gun. I had a mod.10 tactical in 308 a few years ago. It really shot the heavy stuff good. The lighter stuff, not as good. But it had a fast twist. I don't know if that had anything to do with it. As for the ammo, I would be a little scared to shoot it.

I need a new scope for a new rifle.
Pretty sure I will be getting a Remmy SPS 223 on Monday. I really want to put some Quality glass on top of it. I am thinking TASCO  . But seriously, I don't want to go too big because it will be on a "walk about" rifle. The 5-15x40 B&L3200 on my 204Savage is a bit too large for wh...

Re: Looking at getting a new varminter. Any suggestions?
Went to the local Sportsman's Warehouse today and saw what I think is my next rifle. Remmy 700 SPS 223. $455 and with the 24" barrel I want. I looked at the CZ's but they didn't have a 527 varminter. The American was $597 and the Synthetic varminter was $690. I plan on getting it Monday night, ...

Comparison article in Predator Xtreme 204 vs. 20Fireball
To me, looks like another win for the 204.

Re: Looking at getting a new varminter. Any suggestions?
I like the overall package of the CZ varmint. Regular sized forend and a lite contour on the varmint barrel. The only problem is the loal CZ guy is really overpriced.

Why use a Remington action for a build?
I am by no means a gunsmith, nor have ever owned a Remmy. So my question is what makes the Rem. action so popular for builds. I knew a guy that would buy XP100's just to get it's action for a custom job. I never hear of people using Ruger, Win. or Savage actions on custom builds. Why? What makes the...

Looking at getting a new varminter. Any suggestions?
I am looking for something lighter than my Savage 12FV(204). I saw a Ruger MKII 223 at one of the local gunshops. 22" barrel, but I like it. It is "used" but never fired, and at a used price.

Re: How about a 77 TG?
I had a TG in 220 Swift. It shot ok. I traded a #1v Swift for it. I am thinking that I loaded 36grns of IMR 4064 for 50grn BT's. I only had it a little while, then traded it on a sav. 204. I may go back to that dealer soon and see if he still has that gun.

Re: I am looking for a new bi-pod. Any suggestions?
The lenght from the cradle of the bi-pod to the tips is 13.5" for prone. And I can make it higher or lower by spreading the legs in or out. The total length of prone leg is 20". I have the tube slid down quite a ways on the rods.

Re: I am looking for a new bi-pod. Any suggestions?
I could not find one I liked so I just made my own. I took 2 three foot metal rods 3/8 dia. Cut them in half (give or take a few inches). Thread both cut ends from both rods to 3/8-16. I got two 2"x3/8 coupling nuts. Thread both threaded ends into the nut. At the other end, take a 3/8 rubber tu...

Go with savage! The worst groups I shot while working up a load were well under 1/2 inch. I paid $404 for mine new. $275 for B&L 3200 5-15. Like I said, well under 1/2 inch.

Re: 25/06 bullet selection.
How do the 100grn. sierras do on deer? I know they are not as tough as the TSX, but do they work? I shoot the 160grns in my 7STW. At that weight they work quite well. By the way, shots could range from 30yds to 300.

Just bought the new Hogden mag./reloading manual.
I was reading an article about 204 vs 22-250. The auther mentioned he had come to this website to do some reading. I think that is kinda cool.

Re: What a joke!
I was going to trade a Ruger MK II in 220 swift in on a svage in 22-250($450). They were going to give me $285 for mine with scope. I think it is better to sell straight out.
