Re: New guy with a new rifle....
I have only shot 39s in mine(12FV). It shoots in the .2xxs easily.

Re: Hoppes Bore snake
I have one for every caliber I own. I do like them, but nothing replaces a good cleaning every now and then. I don't know about high volume shooting, but you may be able to get a few more shots out before running a rod through it.

Re: 17 HMR and PD's
OK, which do you recomend? Savage, Marlin, Ruger, or maybe just a new barrel for my T/C? I like the varmint model of the 77/17. Heavier barrel and a laminate stock. But it may be a little too $$$. I do want something with more of a varmint feel than a .22 feel.

Opinion about Taurus handguns.
Been looking at one at one of the local shops. I don't know if I want a 9mm or 40s&w. I know revolvers and T/C Encore. Semi autos are kinda new to me. I do know it feels better to me than the XD and the Smith sigma. Are they dependable weapons?

17 HMR and PD's
If I were to go on a weekend PD shoot, would the 17 be a good 2nd rifle. 1st would be a 204 of course. I was thinking that if I went on short notice, I would not have to load up twice as much centerfire ammo. Just buy a brick and go.

Scope for a 17HMR.
Has anyone tried one of the Pine Ridge scopes from Cabelas for the 17 HMR? My dad just bought a new 17 and wants a "better than tasco" scope to put on it. It would be his only varmint gun. I read some good reviews about the the Cabelas Alaskan scopes. He is not near as serious about shooti...

Re: 204 case trimming
Go to Sinclair's or midway and get the Wilson trimmer. I had the same problem. I use the Lee hand trimmer for everything. But had to get the Wilson for my 204. It is really a great trimmer.

Re: Question about Savage bolt face.
The only reason I didn't go 22-250 is because I already have dies and brass for the swift. I also have dies and brass for 223 as well. But I don't see any advantage of the 223 over the 204. And if I were to turn a gun into an A.I. it would be the 223. But I don't think the 223A.I. bucks the wind as ...

Question about Savage bolt face.
The past few weeks I have been working on getting a new varmint gun. First I thought 223, then 204. And thought about building something. Then I figured I might as well get something I know, a 220 swift. I had one in a #1 and a MKII varmint. I want to get one in a Savage. As that is what my 204 is. ...

What about Super Sniper scopes? Does anyone have one? I am thinking the 16x 42mm.

Other than Midway, where can I get some for a 204? They are out of stock there.

Re: Looking at getting a new varminter. Any suggestions?
I didn't get the Remmy. I just could not pull the trigger. I agree with ACLOCO about building one. I have asked a friend at work if he wanted to sell his sav. 223. he said yes. Now I don't know if I want to keep it a 223 or change it to a 204. What advantage if any does the 223 have over the 204? An...
