Although they are technically called prairie dogs before we shoot. As the bullet makes contact their field names change to such old family favorites as -

flipper
spinner
buddha
scatter
hook shot
chip
drive
top spin
back spin
prairie funa
bird food...etc.

We call them black tailed prairie dogs for the most part. The tree huggers call them the 'lynch pin of the prairie'. Quite by accident I basically fell into a fantastic place to shoot them. You mean the 'burr bit' took the 'burr off'. Imagine that.......

Pretty obvious to me that the inside edge of the bullet seating stem has a sharp edge. It is cutting the bullet. (Burr in machinists world)

There is nothing about that picture that makes me think good things about
Forester dies. Even junior high school metal shop 101 would teach one to knock off the burrs and finish the edges...apparently at Forester the machinist missed burr day.

Oh well Jimmy look at it this way....its way too hot right now to be out shootin pds. Over 100 degrees in the shade, but there is no shade, oh shxt theres no trees either. Maybe i will go in August but for now I will head to the mountains and catch fish in the cool mountain streams.
