7mm Remington Magnum - What is your pet load?
I'm doing some research on various loads for my new 7mm Rem Mag. ADI AR2225 (Retumbo) and AR2217 (H1000) seem to be the powders for the 7mm. I'm looking at testing Nosler 150gr Ballistic-Tips and 160gr AccuBonds, as well as the Barnes 150gr TSX (just to see what all the hype is about). What is your ...

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
I really wanted to stay with these heavier bullets because of their higher BC's. How likely is it that the lighter bullets, such as the 35gr Bergers, will be much more accurate? :chin: Have you considered trying a box of Sierra 39gr BlitzKings? They have a high BC of 0.287. My VSSF II tack drives t...

Basil Patrol – protecting the traditional Sunday Roast
It was Saturday afternoon, I was home alone, hunting credits had been accrued (aka domestic duties) and there was a bit of cloud cover – perfect opportunity to go out spotlighting with the 204. The primary target - lamb killers. The Brno 22LR and 40gr Subsonic HPs were also packed for some bu...

Re: Remington 700 VSSF II 204
Thanks Drew Couple clarification questions 1) Did you use the hand load you stated for the barrel run-in or can you use a factory load like Hornadys, does it matter, because I have not hand loaded but not apposed to starting (would need to by the equipment). 2) The between cleaning is it breakout t...

Re: Remington 700 VSSF II 204
I'm very pleased with the Remington 700 VSSF II and Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40mmAO mounted on it. The new "X-Mark Pro" trigger has been adjusted down to 1.5lbs safely and snaps off like a glass rod breaking! All I have done with the rifle is "run in" the barrel which is a drawn out ...

That's a very nice unit indeed. Looking forward to seeing some groups once the barrel has been run in and a load developed.

Re: An August afternoon harvest
You guys have been snookered! Drew is a ringer! He makes great shots all the time, I read his posts on ausvarmints, that kind of shot is nothing for him. What's with the pope gun  (for some reason, that's what they call a .243 in Aus, I haven't gotten THAT translation figured out yet :D ) BTW,...

Re: An August afternoon harvest
Alas, it's only a Parker-Hale Enfield 1858 Naval pattern rifle. It doesn't shoot too bad at 100m either!!!!
