Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Hit the range. Was cool when I left, hot as I arrived. Shot two groups with bullets seated deeper so as to function in rifle, as mentioned above. Tuner set at 4, and, 6. Not great groups. But stopped shooting. Haze rising off the ground making target shimmer at 97 yards etc. Was using a glass scope,...

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Haven't even out to finer tune the tuner yet. (Been 222 foxing and bit windy n hot) I bought a 10 round magazine (grizzly) for the 204 xbolt predator. This helped me revisit an occasional problem of not being able to remove a loaded magazine. The original magazine was hard to remove at times. I ligh...

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Did some preliminary tuner testing today. Couldn't shoot at usual spot, prone, so tried another angle from car roof, then bonnet, with bags. Just wanted to see if poi moved. And 40gn Sierra had same poi as 39gn TNT. Both going similar speeds I think... Poi moved, to the right just over inch to right...

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Next year indeed.
Finally filled the rest bags, and made extra squeeze bags...thanks to Ausiboy.
Want to be alot steadier for finer load development.

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Plan to use tub dust in the 32gn load Dev.
Improved rest for steadier aim should come about soon.
Plastic beads sent by fellow member to fill rest bags...thanks ..
Tuner on rifle too now...also waiting for steadier rest..

Re: Test target at 100 yards 6 shots.
I've dug out some empty rest bags I bought years ago. Might be getting some plastic pellets to fill them rather than sand. I've gotta get steady some how, or Ill need to subtract my "minute of wobble", "mow" from my groups to make my load development not folly...gotta tuner deliv...

Re: Test target at 100 yards 6 shots.
Neat group indeed. Well done.
What rests did you use.
I currently looking at rest systems.
Been using combinations of bipods and squeeze bags. But seem to have picked up a wobble...maybe it's just coffee.
This makes my results not so sovereign as my poa isn't steady .

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
Yes. Expanded ball (from full kenggt size) would form on inside of neck. I think... I was referring to the bushing approach...which seems to size the outside of neck I avoid the full length approach as over works brass..requires lube, I think, and not sure about runout, concentrity etc. Thus I prefe...

Re: Help with taper crimp? Bullets dropping into case.
Annealing reduces brass spring back.
I found this on 270 brass...it would spring back, some cases, until I was annealed. Lee collet die.
However, this may not be the cause.
Maybe double check your set up again...after having a break. Sounds very exasperating.

Re: Neck sizing VS full length sizing
Neck size with Lee collet. Never tried bushing die...seems expensive and seems to size the case to the outer dimension of bushing, relying on consistent neck thickness. I'm no expert..but, I prefer to have my inner mouth perfectly round on the mandrel, and leave neck wall thickness difference on the...

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Interesting stuff. I use Redding Dry neck lube...so..graphite may be in the vacinty...I'll look into it.. I was keen on 8208 for 32gn, but, ended up with ar2219 (10x, h322) Reducing copper in barrel does seem ideal...I spose some barrels might love copper...but...I do like the idea of clean and cons...

Re: reloading for Browning Predator Hunter
Thanks for target compliments. I do have high expectations and hopes..my first groupings at bout 79yards from car bonnet with bipod and squeeze bags felt alot steadier and were much smaller than at 100..prone, with bipod or bags... something i need to address...as the 100 yard groups, Prone had a da...
