Re: snow varmints

Are those things that thick all over Sisters? Maybe you could moonlight as an Abatement Officer of sorts. They get thicker every year. Even had one in my yard last year. That development used to be a ranch, and is still surrounded by ranch land on 2 sides so they are tough to get rid of. Not to men...

snow varmints

This is our local herd. Can't shoot since it's in the city limits and as the 2nd photo shows there would be some collateral damage, but I have seen a buddy parked along side with a pellet gun barrel sticking just out of a tinted window :P Sure makes a guy wish this snow would go away!' http://i129.p...

Re: Reloading for handguns

Thanks for the info guys. I absolutely only carry factory loads for protection in urban environments. I've heard that a lot. I did read an article a while back in one of the handloading magazines where the author was claiming it won't matter if you shoot someone with a reload as long as it was justi...

Reloading for handguns

I have been saving brass and stocking up bullets for reloading my revolvers and auto pistols. However, I have never reloaded a handgun cartridge before. Anyone have any advice/tips and/or load recommendations?
I will be reloading 38 special, 357 mag. and 45 acp.
Thanks!

Re: New carry piece and first 1911

It's easier to get forgiveness, than permission.... Wise words I live by. Although, wife doesn't even know about this yet. She is losing count, and I don't think really cares as long I treat her right. Rick, I traded my wranglers in years ago for carharts. Guess I will have to see how they w...

Re: More .20 Cal Fun with Oregon Rock Chucks

I love the picture with the chucks draped over the bleached out snag splattered with blood with the cooper leaning against it. You should send it down to the "Visit Bend" office to see if they want to put it on an official brochure. Might be good for tourism!

Re: New carry piece and first 1911

Rick, Thanks. This was impulsive, but also very calculated. I knew this was my next piece, just probably should have waited til the bank account agreed. I did look at the cdp, but nosler didn't have one and the plain stainless version fit my budget..sort of and I would rather buy from the proshop th...

New carry piece and first 1911

I landed a job just blocks from the Nosler headquarters, and well I don't think I'll make any money on this one. On day one I stopped by after getting the crew started and did pretty good. Walked away with $80 worth of bullets. But I couldn't help staring at the little ultra carry in the glass case....

Re: My best turkey to date

Congrats on the fine gobbler ryutzy! I just started hunting turkeys a few years ago, but I'm hooked. It's actually way more fun than it looks. Our season in OR opened up last Friday and my buddies and I had 4 turkeys down by 8am. Mine was just a jake but one guy took are real nice one. Hope your mou...

Re: .204 and Black Wolf

Well done! I might pick a bigger pill for that size of critter if I had the choice, but sure wouldn't hesitate if the 204 was close by. Good thing you didn't have to track him...that might make me a little nervous
