Re: Big female

That's the most awesome blood trail I've ever seen! Wonder how much she weighed before she lost the several gallons of blood.

Re: Greetings From the Hospital!

All the best to you Rick. I hope they have you permantly patched up this time. If you're up at st. chucks they not only have a great and beautiful nursing staff, but some pretty good views too. Seems like you might be able to set up a pivot on the roof and get some long range practice in if you can ...

Re: Skull is nice and clean

Sweet! Those dark antlers are a great contrast to the skull. I really like the euro mounts, and regret not doing it to a couple of past deer.
Gun looks nice too. ;)

Nice work Song Dog. Never have seen mange in Oregon...and I hope it stays that way. Ugly. Any idea if either of the other two were mangy?

Doesn't look like there is much to hide behind in those parts. Must be why the scope is so big.

Re: Local Contest

I was just teasin about the big holes. Seems coyote hides aren't worth anything this year anyway and I think your 243 improved is a good way to go to put them dirty dogs down in a hurry. It does seem dog numbers are down this year. I've certainly seen less of them around here than normal and the 2 t...

Re: Local Contest

Congrats guys. Although I would expect nothing less from you. I often fuel up at riley on the way to some of my favorite yote spots, but sounds like I better avoid the area for a while and let the herd recover :D Fur looks really nice on the one on the right, but looks like you shot it with a 50 bmg.

Re: Coyotes have a tough weekend on the prairie

I had a similar feelin when deer hunting once. We weren't seeing any deer, but we were seeing at least 6 coyotes per day. Problem was I couldn't convince my partner that we should stop and blow some noisy rabbit calls. "you can't eat coyotes" he would say. Some people just don't get it. :)...

Some coyotes

I hadn't been seeing any coyotes around my neck of the woods this year. I wacked a couple out in the desert, but hadn't had any luck close to home. Only a couple of sets of fresh tracks in places where there are usually many. Anyway, some snow moved in for a while and made it tough to get around but...

Re: Mt. Lion Encounter in Oregon (Pics)

I think I had a little bit of a panic attack just reading that Don. Claustrophobia takes on new meaning when there is a lion in there with you.

Re: Mt. Lion Encounter in Oregon (Pics)

rpknaz: yeah that is my cat, but my bro in law had to finish it off with a shot to the head while it was growling at us from the mouth of a cave. Long story that isn't is good as rick's, although it does involve me poking the lion with a stick while it growled at one point ;) . Rick: not that I need...

Re: Mt. Lion Encounter in Oregon (Pics)

Awesome story. Great job to your buddy Rick. takes me back. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/jeremdavis/IMG_1416.jpg Also you confirmed my fears of the .38 special. that is the only hand gun I own, and I always assumed it was a little small for big cats and bears. Hmm...how to tell the wife m...

Re: Put your varmint rifle away.....

Absolutely incredible. Kinda makes you long for simpler times. Not easy times...just simpler.
Couldn't find a news crew in Oregon that would dare run such a pro rabbit-hunting story though.
