Oregon Turkey

Went out last week for the opening couple of days. Not as many birds as we usually see, but somehow we went 4 for 4 anyways. I got mine on the second morning. We heard some gobbles up the hill from the "hot spot" so we sat down and started calling. Not long after we were pretty much surrou...

That beats the fanciest corner office I've ever seen.
Like the looks of those 223 ackley shells. Very cool.
Awesome pics Rick!

Re: Finally on the last day.....

Nice bird, great story. Sounds like you have a good supply of turkeys around there. Sure is fun watching them come in. I've never tried simulating the sounds of them flying out of the roost, but it makes sense. They aren't exactly graceful.

Re: Waiting on the draws...

Just found out last week we didn't get drawn in montana. Thought we were due this year. Oh well, now I know what to put in for in Oregon. Only problem is actually drawing something. I always put in for sheep and goat too. I have a cousin (from washington) that drew the only non-resident rocky mt. bi...

Re: Skippy Flies Fine in '09

A windy day shootin still beats a day working. Especially if it's windy and cold at work too! Nice report Rick, and I like you idea for seperate spreadsheet gear lists for each species etc. I'm only 31, but I always forget something. Right now I'm packing up for a turkey trip running around everywhe...

Re: Concealed Carry on Campuses

Make sure and let us know how your report went (grade). Lot's of teachers out there that would be very negatively biased on this subject. Hope you get a fair assessment.

For once I'm not going to be frustrated that you guys are out blasting rats to pieces while I'm working my behind off. Right now it's just nice to have enough work to feel busy.
Still a little envious though.

Re: Got this one Sunday morning........

Nice turkey Keith,
I like the o/u for turkeys. Never considered it before (probably because I don't have one), but it makes sense. Quite a few mt. lions where I turkey hunt so if I had one I'd probably load one tube with buckshot.

Re: Barnes 150 or 165gr TSX for elk

Cool pics Guy. I've tried milk jugs too and they are a lot of fun. Just takes a while to collect enough of them as one shot can ruin 5 or 6 of them. Also, the first time I tried it I was only about 15 or 20 feet from the first one, and found out the hard way that when you are to close you will get v...
