Cougar rug

Finally got my kitty back from the taxidermist last week. Took almost 2 years, but it was worth the wait. It turned out great. If you are in the central oregon area, look up McLagan's Taxidermy. They did a great job. My son also approved. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/jeremdavis/IMG_7933.j...

Re: 4 for 4 In Eastern Oregon

Great to see deer camp being a family affair. Way to go getting the kids involved. Looks like some good shooting too.
My son turns 1 tomorrow and I already have him imitating elk calls! :wtg:

Southeast Oregon Deer Hunt

I went deer hunting in Oregon with a rifle for just the second time. (usually a stick thrower). Had a great time, but saw more coyotes than deer. Even so, I was fortunate to harvest this 3 point. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p237/jeremdavis/IMG_7908.jpg Here is a view of the country and mr. bu...

Winter is finally coming.

No one loves a nice sunny central oregon day more than I, but I am relieved to see November just around the corner. I am too busy with work all summer to even check this forum on a regular basis (let alone do any shootin), but now I can see the coyote at the end of the tunnel...just waiting for me t...

Re: Not a Trophy, but great eatin'!

Rick, Nice goin on the buck. A little dissapointed you weren't shootin the model 70 .270 win. but great shootin none the less. ;) Also, agree completely with your point on ultra mags. I talked to a butcher a while back who was noticing a lot more damage to the meat from the "shock" of some...

Sorry guys, I meant to include the load data, or lack there of. Shootin hornady factory w/ 40 v-max. Not so fur friendly this time! :? Rick Timney install went pretty smooth. Had to file down the safety, which made me a little nervous, but it seemed to turn out just fine. The trigger is supposed to ...

Another yote falls to the .204 ruger ultralight- story&p

Well, I decided to make one more quick coyote trip before I put my calls away and got back to work. I headed east into the desert, but before I got to my destination, I had to stop and play good sam to a liberal from portland who got her VW "Eurovan" stuck in the mud on the side of the roa...

Another deer to look at while we wait for the snow to quit

Here's a mule deer I took 3 years ago in Eastern Montana. It was the narrowist of our group, but I really liked it because it was heavy, and had good mass. This was by far the biggest bodied deer I've ever shot. Each year when I go to Montana with some buddies for deer, we ask permission to hunt thi...

Yellowstone River Whitetail. Nov. 2006 pics & long stor

Well, the weather is snowy, and that is messing up my work schedule which somehow leads me to sitting in my office daydreaming of hunting. So I thought I would post a picture of the deer I took while rifle hunting in Montana last year. I was hunting on a small ranch on the banks of the Yellowstone i...

I'll second Ricks comments. I've got family in the ranching business that is really hoping you guys will pick those big dogs off before they reach the OR/ID border.
Anyone know how many tags they are proposing to allow?
Go with both barrels blazin!

Awesome! It took me several seconds to find the gun. Bet you can get those dogs to walk right over you. Best camo I've seen posted on this site. :hail: Can anybody out do that? Let's see some pics.
