Re: Remington pps
Adam, your dealer may be correct, in that I was under the impression they were only available in those two calibers (308W & 223R). I've got one in .308W and it shoots Federal Premium Match 168gr ammo into .25" to .38" all day at 100 yds. With a bipod, the combination will hit head-siz...

Remington pps
Hi all. Not a .204 question sorry but your the only forum I trust for good advice. My local gun shop has a Remington 700 pps in stock. Its in .243 calibre which according to him is a special order because it is only normally offered in .223 and .308. Apparently it is only 6 or 7 months old and looki...

Re: pressure signs ???
Fred, nice photo lineup for clarity. Excellent post showing the effects of primer flattening for the newer guys. :D Thanks, Rick. I only ever steal the good stuff. Thanks alot guys :D I'm using CCI BR4 primers as they are giving me the best groups. I would have thaught also that being a c...

Re: pressure signs ???
Thanks alot guys I'm using CCI BR4 primers as they are giving me the best groups. I would have thaught also that being a custom action from the likes of Stiller that the firing pin and hole would be optimized!!!!!?

Re: pressure signs ???
Its been fired through my custom built rifle, running a Stiller predator action. I looked at some factory Hornady 40gr rounds that I had fired and there apears to be a very slight rise on the primers of those but not quite as pronounced as on my re loads. All I want to know is if this constitutes as...

pressure signs ???
I have tried to take some pics of the primers on a latest batch of loads i have used whilst testing new bullets. Im sorry they are not clearer but its the best my camera can do. The bolt is normal to lift and open and the cases are showing no signs of splitting or head separation, but I was wonderin...

first loads from new unfired brass
Hi all, I have finally got round to trying some new Nosler loads with Hornady unfired brand new cases. No problems just that I noticed that they seemed a little tighter than normal when opening the bolt. I was not near max loads. Could it be because they are opening up to my rifles chamber for the f...

Twist rate?
Hi lads. I may be putting another new barrel on my custom built rifle in the very near future due to a fouling problem. At the moment it is a 1-10 twist 3 groove. My aim is too shoot the heavier 39 or 40grain bullets, and although accuracy is reasonable, ( Still need to test some more load combintio...

Re: longest kill to date for new rig!
I'm Sure I can arrange a few theatre tickets. Send those dogs over   I also shot a crow at 377yds a couple years ago with my then Ruger m77 mk2 stainless laminate. That was with factory remington 40grains!!! Me and my shooting buddy have got a bit of friendly competition on at the moment, ...

Re: longest kill to date for new rig!
Anti-social! I love it! Well so be it then, that's what I'll be because I love to shoot! Some day you'll have to take your holiday over here and try several different calibers. Gary Don't tempt me. I may never go home, especially if I try my hand at some prairie dog shooting!!! I would...

Re: longest kill to date for new rig!
Adam, I noticed the silencer on your rifle, are they required by law? On this side of the pond we have to pay the Federal government a $200 tax to own one. :wall: Some states don't even allow silencer ownership! It's kind of stupid that we require mufflers on our cars, lawn mowers, etc but it...

Just don't open the box in the Customs house! Gary They are seriously strong and muscle bound. Roid boys of the rodent world me thinks   I havent shot one at around the 100y...
