You don't always get to pick the perfect spot.
The Nosler lead free is a pretty good bullet, I've used the 40gr version in my 22-204 and 5.6x50R Mag for coyotes.

Re: Downsides to the 204 for coyotes
I just put together a 20 P for coyotes and the 40gr NBT is working for me, I am going to experiment with the 34gr bullet mentioned as soon as my new Rifle Basics trigger gets here. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/922/zqXVn2.jpg Bullet selection is the only drawback for a 204, I have a ...

Re: What is your go to shot gun?
Those old 31's are built like they have ball-bearings in them. My X-FinL had a pair of them a 12ga 26" skeet gun and a 30'' 12ga trap gun. The skeet gun was his birdgun waterfowl and upland. One season he killed 23 ducks with a box of shells, said he should have done better but had to swat two ...

Re: What is your go to shot gun?
I've shot a lot of shotguns over the years, mostly sxs but I did dabble in a couple semi-autos(not my cup of tea). I have one pump left for a dedicated coyote rig. My favorite waterfowl shotgun is a old Huqvarna Hammer double, I have a pair of them. My upland shotgun is a svelte little Bernardelli s...

Re: Motorcycles
I road up to the 1990's and then took a break as the new wife wasn't interested in bikes and I knew if I went alone I'd get in trouble. Fast forward to retirement and moving out of the PNW(rain central). At 72 I bought a bike to hunt off of. I have fond memories of an old coot on a BMW running down ...

Re: 204 case trimming preferences
I have a couple Wilson/C&H, a Forester and Lyman but my new favorite is the LEE Quick Trim. I have four bodies in a turret, the 204 body will trim a 204 and my three 204 wildcats(22-204, 6mm-204, 25-204) with no changes needed. The 223 body will trim my 20 Practical, 223 and 6x45, plus I have a ...

Re: Coyotes
I'm a little late to this, but here goes. I spent 6 days in the Elko are at the end of Sept 2019 and it was different from the year before. The sage flats that were teaming with rabbits were almost baron and where we had multiple coyote responses(killed a couple triples) the year before we couldn't ...

I quess I should have said smaller capacity or whatever. If the .243 could be made to shoot very little groups consistantly we wouldn't have the 6mmPPC, 6mm BR, 6mm INTERNATIONAL, 6x47 LAPUA, 6x47mm and a long list of smaller capacity 6mm's That have dominated the benchrest compitition the last 2 da...

augmike The 6mmx204 does not exist at this time that I know of, but neither did my 25-204. It is a very logical wildcat, and easy to build. The 204 Ruger case is the 222 Rem Mag with the shoulder moved forward, the body straightenned , the shoulder changed to 30 degrees. BINGO improved 222 Rem Mag. ...

I had a 6x45 built for my main calling gun and think it is about perfect. 55gr NBT at 3350fps. It is a very easy cartridge to work with. If you want to stay with a small bolt face but want a little more UMPH, think about a 6mmx204 Ruger. It would equate to a 6x47mmAI with out the fire forming and br...
